I like to listen to the radio or music when I drive. It relaxes me and at night, it takes my sleepiness out. I sing along with some songs being played. I dont want to be silent as it makes me sleepy especially during long drives. So do you listen to music when you drive or you want it to be just silent?

I always have music playing in the car, especially on a long drive. I generally have goth and rock music playing, often loud, it keeps me feeling upbeat and alert.

Long driving invites sleepiness that's why we put some music to awaken up our senses and enjoy the trip...tho, there are types of music that invites sleepiness, for example, bossa nova music, love songs and etc... these are some examples of music that instead of waking up your senses, they make you feel like mommy is singing you a lullaby...so make sure you choose the right type of music while driving, choose music that are upbeat and makes you groove while driving haha!!!
enjoy driving everyone! and have a safe trip! see you on the road!=)

We always do. Even if we have lots to talk about we keep the cd/radio low with music playing in the background.

Yes, I like to listen to music while I am driving. It tends to soothe me. But I make sure not to have it too loud as I want to be able to hear other things while driving, such as an emergency vehicle that has it's sirens on.
My oldest son prefers the quiet when we drive places. As he is autistic I tend to let it go and give him his way when it comes to this. Even though I miss listening to music during these times I would rather avoid a meltdown with him, especially while I am driving down the road. I'd hate to get into an accident because of it.

Hi gabrielle47,I dont like silent too, music could kill the time when travelling,so when dont know what to do and feel tired or something,I will play music or radio to kill the time ,also I will sing with it.I love that feeling, thanks for the discussion, good luck!

Yeah, I listen to music while I drive, I also sing...lol. Sometimes I wonder if the people that I meet on the road can see my mouth wide open..lol They probably think I'm a crazy lady. I have a big collection of cd's in my car, so if theres nothing on the radio, I can pop in one of my favorite cd's, and sing a long, sometimes my voice will actually get hoarse if its a long drive, and I've been singing all the way...haha..now thats silly.

I don't drive, I am rarely in a car, but I do like it a lot when the driver plays music, even if it is not something I would normally listen to I like to hear music.

I always listen to music when I drive. It keeps me attentive and its something fun to do. I usually bring my ipod along and then put on a good playlist and let it roll. I couldn't do a long drive without music, the silence would be too boring.

Most of the time I do but sometimes I like the quietness so I can think. Or sometimes I'm needing a moment of quietness to get the noise out of my head that came from maybe a party or something else of sorts. But most of the time I love hearing the radio or a CD playing.

I love listening to music all the time. I listen to it when I'm doing homework, when I'm in the car, all the time basically. I'm not quite sure why, I just need some background noise most of the time.
Having music while I'm driving is rather important to me because I spend so much time in the car. [1 hour commute to school, 30 minute commute to work, 2 hour commute to my boyfriend every-other weekend] There's no way I could handle all of that time in silence.

I have to have music on when I'm driving or else I get bored and tired. When it's too quiet, I just want to go to sleep.

I personally don't drive, but when I'm in the car being driven somewhere, I like to listen to music. When I'm sleepy, we tend to turn on more upbeat music, so we can stay awake. In fact, we rarely listen to anything that is mellow sounding, because we like the up tempo beat music. I don't really go in the car that much other than to go to work though, because everyone else works too, so there isn't anyone to go out with. I would love to get my license and some point in the future, hopefully in the close future.

Love to listen to the radio, when I drive....but sometimes I have to tune into a upbeat station that gets the old adrenaline flowing! On some extended drives I'll even opt for some raucous talk show that will keep the thought processes happening! My radio is a constant companion, with ear phones, so as not to intrude on other's privacies whilst I am landscaping or tiling, too! Cheers.

Oh I love to listen to music and until recently have been without a music system in my car but now have a cd player in there. Its wonderful I get in and sing along, my little boy loves the fact that there is music and I find longer journeys are much easier now with music as it keeps him content in his car seat. Ellie :D

Yes, i listen to music or radio when i drive but not very loud because it makes me not to be attentive to drive. In the last year and a few months i mostly listen to music for children because my little son is with me in the car when i drive. It is fun!
