I have a permanent collection of more than 500 books, ranging from crime, mystery, thriller, philosophy, reference, language, romance, chick lit, science fiction, fantasy, young adult, religion and paranormal books.
I also have more than 1000 books that make up my to be read pile.
There is a good chance that I will never get through my entire to be read pile, as I'm constantly adding to it.

According to my book collection program i have about 375 books i've added into the program. I know i have another 75 books on the shelves in the basement that have to be added by hand because they are too old to have isbn numbers (i have the old old paddington bear books and the wind in the willows series) as well as the 12 D&D books i've recently acquired and a few others from the library. I'd say in totally i have about 500 books give or take a few. I'll finish cataloging my books on the weekend and let ya know!

I got a program called Book Collector - i got it awhile back from a website collectorz.com and i paid about 40 usd for it at the time.
Its pretty handy because all i have to do is put in the isbn number of the book i have to add and it searches it from amazon and barnes and noble and you choose the copy you have. If you have access to a barcode scanner its even easier because you scan the the barcode and it adds the isbn to search for you.

right now I only own about 50 books but that's due to the fact that I've been moving around a lot during the last few years. It pains me actually since I used to have so many books my friends hated moving me from one house to another. I find comfort in all the words and some of the books I read more than once. the last time I moved I donated almost my whole collection to the local library ... more than 300 books in various genres .. they were very very happy and I was a bit sad (grin) ... I had to par down to the 50 or so books I now own and I'm trying to resist building up my collection anticipating another move sometime in the next year or two (sigh) ... I enjoy reading those I have but for some odd reason I don't enjoy borrowed books (library, friends, etc.) anywhere as much ... never could figure out why ...

I used to have a library of between 300 and 400 books. I never managed to count them all. I gave them to charity when I moved home. They were nearly all non-fiction and some were expensive art books. I had read or used all of them.
Now I have about 30 which I read recently and a few more waiting to be read.

I have about 200 books, too. But I just have them on bookshelves in a couple different rooms. I will buy them and if it's in a series or one I really like, I keep them forever. I reread the best ones every year or so. The ones that are good but not good enough to reread go to family or a garage sale.

I think I own up to 50 books. I'm proud because I bought them with my own money. Though I haven't read all of them, I'll find time reading them since I'm really fond of reading books and novels. I like collecting mystery novels and books of controversy. I like reading books about elusive opinions that majority of the masses didn't accept or believe. Well, I wanted to widen my knowledge about controversies and the fact that not all the things established today are true.

Well I have no library, because after I usually read a book,I give to someone else to let them read,Right at the moment I own about 5 books until I read them and I hand them down to someone else to read,I do have a library of books for my daughters and they have about 150 books.
