Do you read the newspaper back to front or front to back?

I read the newspaper from front to back. I usually read the front page article first, then I flick through the first half of the paper skimming through the titles to see if any other news items interest me. After that I usually look at my star signs for the day. I don't usually even look at the back of the paper as I am not too interested in reading the sport section. Very rarely will I read alot of the paper. How about you, what order do you read the paper in? Which parts of the paper do you actually read? Do you start the paper from the back reading the sport section first, then go to the front of the paper afterwards?

I read it from back to front, because in my newspaper, back page is 'sports' page, I Love to read sports news first, before going through other news. But I cannot remain without reading my newspaper, I just love to read it thorought all 365 days of an year.

Wow a newspaper lover, have not heard anyone say that they love it that much before, that is really good. You would definately be well informed of news around the world and the latest sports update.

Always front to back.. I always like to have the best part at last (In my newspaper, the last page has the trivial news section, which is most interesting..) I usually keep the additionals for the end, for the same reason

That's interesting having the trivial news section at the back. Here we always have the sports section at the back.

I read the newspaper front to back. I just read whatever cathes my attention. I read the Daily News and sometimes they have these stories about murders committed a long time ago and they revisit them and I like to read those stories because i learn new stuff. I don't read my star signs because I'm not really into that. But that's all I read, oh and stuff about celebrities too.

So I see you like unsolved mysteries you would probably like the shoe Cold Case then as they solve murder mysteries from years ago. Have you seen that movie? I am like you too reading whatever catches ny eye.

I actually haven't watched that movie but yeah I like to read stories like that. Most of them were solved a long time ago and only a few weren't solved. But it also deals with other stuff besides murder.

It seems like you are in the minority group in this discussion, most people start at the front. I wonder how many people actually do read the whole paper, not many by the sounds of it. Just shows how important headlines need to be.

I agree littleowl, it can become quite depressing reading all the bad news all the time. I think they should publish alot more good news, like miracles and stories of heros. That would surely brighten up your day.

I do not often read a newspaper, but when I do, I read it front to back. It feels wrong to me reading it the other way! My dad would always read the back of it first, he was a big football follower and so he would go to the sports pages first and then read the rest of it after!

Lol, if it was a magazine on the other hand would you feel weird starting at the back(gossip section)? I always start at back in magazines. If they changed the sport section at the back to something that interests you then you may go to back first. I think the Japanese people always read back to front, that would be strange? I like to go to the back then for gossip section in magazine.

Yes I am like you too with reading mags from the back first, funny how women love to catch up on the gossip.

a bit of gossip keeps us going!!! but i dont know if you find that a lot of mgazines run the same storylines..i definately dont think that you would read the mags that i read....but there are two in particular that are very very alike!!!!.....thats Woman and Womans own.... Though i love magazines the price of them puts me off!!..i love the house magazines...and the country life mags but they are very very expensive!

I read mainly Woman's Day and New Idea. I do find that they have alot of the same gossip, lol, read one and you don't need to read any of the other magazines. I agree magazines are quite expensive. Have not really bought house magazines before, so not sure on there price.

Hi Kiran Since i love to read i'll buy the paper and take out the Sports and classified and toss them to the recycle bin. Next i read the front page, metro and then the Life page (gossip, star sign and comics and Dear Abby) Its not that i care about who of the stars is doing what, but i'm a little nosy about them lol. I read front to back unless if an article is carried over to another page and then read that page and back again. Cute discussion!

Hi Rosekitty, sounds like you read the newspaper quite thoroughly. Never heard of Dear Abby, sounds interesting though, what is that section about? I am also a little nosy, good to have a laugh sometimes about all the gossip.

Morning again! Yes I tend to keep up with the news as bad as it can be sometimes..need something good to read lol..Dear Abby is a sister to Ann Landers..the twin advise columnists who would listen to your crying or complaints about divorce, life, family and give you advise back. Does this ring a bell? if not maybe they don't carry them in your state paper. I used to wish i could be like them cause sometimes it could get funny and you knew you were in charge and they would believe what you'd say..kinda like the weatherman lol

I usually just go straight to the cartoons page and read the horoscope as well then just flip through the pages to see if there's something nice to read if not that's it for me.

Cartoons hey, I never really have read them myself. What type of cartoons are they publishing these days? Do you write cartoons yourself. I like reading the horoscopes too.

I always start at the back with the sports section, finish that and then go to the front and read from there. The only time I don't start with the sports is if there is a headline or story on the front that really grabs my attention or is something I am really inetrested in.

Interesting, I thought there would be alot more people here like yourself that start at the back because of the sports section. But it seems like there are only a select few so far. The headlines are crucial I think, if they don't grab your attention then alot of people do not bother reading the article.

I usually read from the sport session. Then only I will flick through the rest of the newspaper. I think the least session that I would read is the finance session.

Good thing the lead of the article has the most umportant information up the top that way you can see whether the article is worth reading.

I usually don't read newspaper that much. It's kinda boring for me to read and see what's the news all about specially when it comes to the corruption matters of the government and about the crisis of your country. ArRrRrgggGg it makes all of my hair stand up. I only read newspaper if I want to read or see something.

Well atleast you hair is flat alot of the time, lol. Newspapers can be boring sometimes. I think they are useful for job hunters and share buyers and also people who are looking to buy things though.
