What to start your own business? (Opinion)

My mom is 52 years old and up until a year ago was in the nursing field. She felt that her health wasn't up to par and she needed to find a new career. She wanted a job that would allow her alot of freedom. She has always been a great cook and baker. People were always asking her to cook for them or make birthday cakes. So, she decided to start her own catering company. In the last year it has really grown. Especially her candy orders. She is now offering these "Start Your Own Candy Business" kits on her website. I was wanting to get some feedback from stay at home moms or older retired people about whether they think this is a good idea, something that people would actually be interested in doing to make some extra money? THis is a good idea, she can start her own business with out trouble...Currently, I am still finding a home-based job for gaining more freedom for my uni. study,
$38 membership fee is very reasonable

I'm sure some people would be very interested it sounds like a business that you could do while you still took care of the children and did the housework. The only thing I would want to know is what exactly is included for the $38.
When youre trying to get people to give you money, the more information the better!
