My physco dog eats whole socks!

does anybody else have a dog that eats things he shouldn't? im talkin like big objects that normally shouldnt be injested? my 2yr old border collie/lab pup has started this bad habbit of injesting whole adult size socks. he used to chew on them and sometimes shred them to bits and sooner or later i noticed he would end up eating the little peices before i could stop him. but the other nite, my boyfriend and i looked over at him just as he was swallowing the last bit of the whole sock. i was worried he would get sick and vomit it back up right away....or even choke on it. but i watched him closely for any signs he wasnt feeling well for the next couple days....then one morning about 3 days later, i woke up to find the whole sock that he had thrown up on my carpet. yuck. im wonderign if this new habit isn't due to a bit of jealously from the new puppy we have in the family....but its strange, and it sorta worries me. wonder what else has injested that i dont know about....(other that the half of a couch cushion he ate when i first got him....lol) anyone else have this experience or something similar?
