or do you buy it from your works canteen.i was buying my lunch for a while and it was getting too expensive so i have started to pack my own lunch, sometimes a sandwich or the leftovers from dinner the night before, and actually it was a lot nicer than the canteen.what would you take for lunch.cheers sue

I nearly always take a packed lunch to work. From time to time i like to buy a sandwich as a treat - usually something like smoked salmon that I wouldn't usually make and bring from home.
Every week I put in a tin the money I would have spent if I hadn't taken my own lunch and this goes towards my holiday fund. It's amazing how quickly it builds up.
If I had food left over from my evening meal I might try to use it in a packed lunch. For example, we had a roast chicken on Sunday and on Monday I mixed the leftover chicken with a little salsa an had it in a warp with fresh salad.
The other night we had some rice left over so I made a rice salad for lunch the next day. I love finding ways to save money!

I always did that when I used to work my friend, because you save a fortune, there was a wonderful sandwich place about 5 minutes walk from where I used to work the sandwiches were exquisite but being London the prices were exquisite too! So I used to do a big shop from the supermarket, rolls, meats, cheeses etc and I saved a small fortune! I did occasionally treat myself from the sandwich shop but I think it was only on payday LOL!

i pack my lunch from home! Most of the time i can't even eat at the canteen cause i'm to busy working so i just eat at my office! And the food in the canteen isn't even half as good as the food at home! Prepared with love instead of an industrial preparation!

I prepare my own lunch and take it along as i go for my job. I rarely go for canteen food. I love to prepare variants of food and my family too loves this change in taste and the same goes for me. I would go for a soft drink from the canteen or some kind of fresh juice if possible.

I almost always bring my lunch because I can't really eat the food that most restaurants serve because they are too high in sodium and have too many grains. So, I usually bring my lunch. I bring spinach salad, milk, oatmeal, and fruit on most days. If I forget my lunch, I will try to buy a small amount of food from a restaurant or grocery store.

when I used to work I spend a lot of money eating out and then when I realized that I started to pack my lunch, I saved a lot of money like that.

I bring my lunch to work. Before we have dinner, I will take some food and then put it into the lunch box. At noon I put the lunch box into the microwave oven and after a while I can have my lunch. It's economical and healthy.

I pack lunch most of the time, it's cheaper (and I don't trust the food at the canteen). Usually left overs from the night before (or whatever's available), it's always rice with vegetables. I only eat outside if I woke up a bit late and have no time to cook.

It is about half and half for me. If I have leftovers then I bring them in. Some nights I will make a little something for the whole office (all three of us LOL). Today we each brought something and had hotdogs and baked beans and chips. It saves a lot of money doing it this way I think and we get to have something we did not make ourselves.

I take my own lunch for three reasons: 1 the price of the dinner in the canteen is pretty expensive, 2 I don't fancy eating in the dinner hall with a load of students, it just doesn't feel like a real break from work and 3 I like to choose what I want to eat and I like to pack things to munch on throughout the day like a bag of nuts etc.
I take all sorts to lunch, sometimes I like leftovers from dinner like yourself. Most of the time I take sandwiches or stuffed pitta breads. My favourites include cheese and beetroot sandwiches and fresh vegetable and humus stuffed pitta breads. I also take some dried fruit or nuts for dessert.
