Who does the voting on American Idol anyway?

If you watch AI you know that Ramiele has been voted off the show and I can't help but wonder who the heck does the voting anyway! This girl has an awesome voice and stage presence. I think the fact that the producers choose the songs or the genre of the songs they have to sing is what brings them down. Her rendition of Whitney Houstons "I will always love you" was almost better than the original and I wonder why the voters couldn't see that.
My personal opinion is that the people who vote are very young and they don't know what good talent is. I am 95% positive that David Archuletta will win in the end but I don't think it will be because of his talent which he has but because he is 17 years old and all the young girls love him. Before you say it...yes, I do vote every week for the people I think deserve it.
How do you feel about Ramiele being voted off? Do you think she was good enough to stay at least until the end? What could the reason be that she was voted off? I don't get it?

the main reason that one person is voted off from american idol is that he/she has low number of votes. there are millions of people of who vote in american idol, as ryan seacrest would say each evening during the elimination night. it just so happen that ramiele malubay was not able to impress those millions of voters.
i like ramiele's voice too and would like for her to go on be the winner but we must admit that her performance for the past two or three tuesdays had not been that persuasive. she has to connect to people and has to show the power of her voice but so far, she has held back. and that cost her the chance the to be the next american idol.
if you notice, when she sang the dolly parton song again (at the end of the show last night), her performance is better and you can hear the power of her voice. if she has done that for the last few performances, then i believe she could have stayed on.
now that she's out, there are a lot of other opportunities that would come her way. and she just have to take advantage of what is there.

I believe she will have some offers in the near future since she is very good. I thought she did connect with the audience when she sang the Whitney Houston song and I liked the idea of her sitting on the piano. I thought that showed some class.

We can't deny the fact that Ramiele is awesome. She was way better than other contestants because I know that she always give her best shot. The main reason why she was voted off because her supporters who have been supporting her since she joined thought that she could actually make it to the final even without their votes being counted. As what we can see in the pattern week by week, she was never in that bottom three, and that, she was eliminated just like that. It seems like those Cristy Lee Cook fan is really doing something to give her more support because they know that anytime, their Idol will say goodbye, either she did a good job or not. Another thing, few are left in the competition. Those few were so talented and whoever got eliminated doesn't mean that he/she is not that good compare to other hopefuls. It is just, week by week, different people opinion, different likes and dislikes, why the votes changes. And that, Ramiele didn't get the attention of the viewers not because she's not that good but because that time, supporters were not enough. It is all about the money. You have the money, you can vote, you can make your Idol win. Sometimes, it is being debated if this competition really is all about the talent. But because of the texting and calling involve, it seems that anyone can win, as long as you make yourself a tag, become famous and earn's people attention.
Still, I do believe that Ramiele will make it to the music scene. With that vocal gift, this moment, producers are calling her and please her to be their talent.
It has been an amazing journey for her. It is good to be Filipinos. I am proud to be one!

yeah i believe so!! i love ramielle not just because she's a kababayan but definitely because she has the gift of an awesome powerful voice.
It just so happened she got the lowest number of votes. most probably because she didn't quite impressed the judges lately and the voters as well. THough she got the talent, she seemed to be nervous all the time and still needs to improve her stage performance so as to connect to the audience. For those who know what a good talent really is, we immediately know she's really a good singer. But for those who just rely on popularity and impressive stage performances, they may not actually realize how good ramielle is.
But..life doesn't end there for our kababayan, she could still make it big and become an IDOL for millions of Americans and Filipinos. Mabuhay ka!!

well fellow Filipino but because i know she does well all the time with her performance...i don't believe on voting system because it always knocks off the best one...i don't get it as well why they voted her out when she's amazing to me...her voice is so awesome..and we are not allowed to vote here in Philippines..voters of american idol are teens and i don't wanna think that this is because of some racist peeps...if it is then i would feel very much awful with it...

Ramiele is a great singer! That said she kind of had some tough breaks come her way. First and foremost she got sick and lost he voice for a while a couple weeks back and was unable to practice. Next came country music week, definitely not the genre to show off her huge voice. Ramiele never felt comfortable with the Dolly Parton tune or was intimidated by it or a combination of both. Whatever the reason, last Tuesday night was probably her worst performance. She will tour with the top ten though and get the much needed exposure that is necessary to make it in the music business.

she didn't have much of a stage presence and that is what the voters look for, I am not sure david is going to win, I think it will be david cook.
and although I would have not voted ramiele off so early unless she became more lively and more confident I do not see her lasting past the 6th position

I have often found myself seriously wondering the same thing. I have my top 6 I vote for every week. Kristy Lee is my #1 choice. She hails from about 30 miles up the freeway from me so that rates a vote. I don't think we've had anyone from Oregon yet, but I'm not 100% on that. I'm sure we've not had someone from as close as Selma.
Anyway, there are plenty of weeks I find myself wondering loudly 'who is doing all this crappy voting??' Kristy Lee has been in the bottom 3 alot and I don't think she should be there. I also like Brooke, Carly, Michael, Jason, and David Cook.
I like to listen to them with my eyes closed through some of the performance because it helps me hear them with less distractions.
I don't know if you watch So You Think You Can Dance, but I often wonder if the voting is rigged on that show as well. I find myself seeing an appearance trend, meaning they get rid of people according to their personal style or dress code. Maybe I'm wrong here, too.

She does have an excellent voice, however, her last 2 weeks of performances were weaker than other performers. Syesha was the one that sang, "I Will Always Love You. Personally I would have put her in the bottom 3 this week. This years group has a lot of good talent, and some really stand out contestants. Everyone on there has got to bring their A game every week, because there is so much talent.

Producers will keep David Archuleta because majority of the audience of American Idol are teenagers. Ramiele is good, but she never showed it. I felt bad. But there would always be someone who is going to be voted off anyway. There are a lot of talented people in the top 9. It was a bad night, country music was not really her style. But you have to admit, she pretty much did not have nice comments from the judges lately.
There are rumors that American Idol has the right to throw away votes. Remember David Hernandez? Look at the dialidol percentages and he did not have a low percentage. I feel like the producers just do not want to deal with his "past" as a stripper. Just a thought.

I loved Ramiele's performances, but I don't think she's the best up there. I don't think David Archuletter is the best either. David Cook has been the most consistant, and honestly, I think took songs written by other people, and made them his own.
I think she was good enough to stay a few more weeks, but I don't think she could have won. I hope she comes back next season and wins though!
