I'm kind of strapped for cash so I was wondering what your favorite cosmetics were for that you could find cheaply like at Walmart or another discount retailer.
What has worked well for you and what should I stay away from??
I have used things in the past that I have loved and hated and I was wondering if I had the same feelings as you gals on here.
I'm looking for any cosmetic product that goes on your face!
Thanks in advance for your responses!

M eyeliner is avon and I buy it when it is 99 cents or a bogof deal. My mascara is clear and it is maybellien (sp) which I get at walmart but my pressed powder, eye shadow, blush, concealer, etc now come from ebay. I buy from Southern Magnolia Minerals. Her products are awesome and really are inexpensive. I bought a whole starter kit and 3 eye shadows for $15.
Cover girl can kiss my butt :)

I have heard of that Ebay seller. Does her stuff cover well...I have always wondered about it. That Bare Minerals stuff never worked well..it was to dry even on my oily skin. Made me look older.
I like Avon too, their sales rock!

Thanks for that. I will have to check it out. That mineral makeup always seems to look cakey on my face and I don't have dry skin. It was especially pretty when the Bare Minerals I had used settled into those itty bitty lines that I never even look that close at. Ughhhhh...
I will have to give her a try! Thanks hun! XOXOXOXO

Her stuff is amazing. I have oily skin around my nose and on my chin but my cheeks and forehead have dry patches. Hers in the only product that covers everything and doesn't make me look all cakey or waxy. There are 4 different products you have to apply to get the "whole look" though. I start with the concealing powder with my dark circles and my one mole I hate, it even fills in laugh lines if you use enough of it. then you have to put the base on over that, the perfection powder over that and finish it off with a light dusting of the finishing veil. It honest to goodness looks like I have no makeup on at all and not once did I break out anywhere from using it.
I only do the whole deal for special occasions though. I don't have 20 minutes to fix my face every day just to run to the grocer store.

You want Wet N Wild. Most cheap brands are not really cheap, but that is. And its quality makeup.

Sorry skinny, i wanted to answer your discussion to support you, but i dont wear any makeup at all.. If i did i wouldnt have the moeny to buy it so i'd have to steal it i guess lol. I never have worn it though. i dont see the point. i guess when i get to 35-40 i'll have to laern how to put it on and stuff cause the bags under my eyes will be much much more defined lol.

nyc brand is pretty okay. its not the best for its the best for a cheap brand. i use the curling iron by them, and its pretty solid for a 4 dollar eyelash curler. their nailpolish is also pretty good. i like the lipgloss and eyeliner alot, except you have to reapply the eyeliner every so often.

wet & wild brand isn't too bad for el cheapo.
walmart and walgreens and quite a few other stores sell them.the only thing you have to watch is the nail polish chips really easily.other than that,it's not too bad.

This doesn't always work, but do you know that sometimes the dollar stores have really nice name-brand things? For example, I was paying $9.99 for each tube of Sally Hansen Lip Lift Collagen lipstick and they discontinued my favorite color. I got a few sticks on eBay for about 30% off that price, but then found a few in The Dollar Tree for, you guesed it, just $1. I love Sally Hansen products and just bought a whole bunch of new nail stuff today because we had some coupons to use up at CVS Pharmacy, but I have also gotten them at discount from Bealle's Outlet and even that wonderful grocery store chain they used to call Canned Foods--now it is Grocery Outlet. That is the store where I bought Rachel Perry stuff for $5 to $10 that listed for $25.

I know this is an older discussion, and you've probably found your cosmetics by now, but I wanted to share an experience a friend of mine had with Dollar Store cosmetics.
My friend was in very tight financial circumstances several years ago and could no longer afford her preferred cosmetics. She was thrilled when she found her favourite Dollar Store had makeup in stock. She started using their eyeliner and mascara products. Some time later, she noticed that her eyelashes were breaking off/falling out like never before. I suggested she discontinue the Dollar Store makeup for a while. She found another economical source that carried some of the makeup she had used previously. She soon no longer had breakage problems.
Dollar Stores do have excellent prices but, for me, I would buy anything I will be using on my skin from other stores that are not likely to be selling the cosmetic "rejects". My thinking is that, in order for any store to sell name brand cosmetics for a dollar, there was likely a manufacturing glitch: wrong product in the container, faulty batch of product, etc.

I think I pretty much own every brand of makeup that they have out there. I love makeup and everything about it. Everyone reacts different to makeup. Some good and some bad. For instance I hate nicole miller's line of makeup. Yes it is not tested on animals and is enviormentally safe but for me I get irratations and rashes from it. Is it worth it for me wear this? No. I don't care for it and I won't wear it. I do however have nothing bad to say about any other line of makeup. Wet N Wild is a good cheap one. There is also stuff that you can get at dollar stores. Some good and some bad there to. It all depends on if you like them or not.
