About the dream of being doctor because you have seen medical serials

Hi there, My favorite show on TV is "House". It doesn't make me want to be a doctor, but it sure makes me want to have a doctor like him. I love Hugh Laurie. If I had him for a doctor, I'd be sick the rest of my life. lol. Bye friend, Cheryl

I like reading pocketbooks on doctors -how they do their 24hour duties, how they solve their professional dilemma in solving mystery of medicine, how they fall in love, how they become good

That's an interesting question, because I don't think medical TV programs set out to inspire people to become nurses or doctors, and of course in the case of HOUSE, the almost impossible settings for the stories would probably put people off, rather than inspiring them. In a general sense, medical TV or film probably achieve a high level of success, because we can all find something to relate to, whether it's the level of suffering and pain, or the levels of concern of family and friends, or even the thought that they may be dealing with an illness suffered by somebody we know! Yes it could also have a big down side, because people die, and that brings in the question of how much suffering we can accept in the name of entertainment.

well i have had watched house and patch adams but i have never thought of becoming a doctor as i m not very good at cutting and stciching also i hate involving myself in surgeries and stuff .i can see all u can show me but i cant do it.
