so i get a baby tomorrow. yippee. it's a mechanical baby from school. i'm actually pretty terrified. i don't know if i'll sleep through the crying or not and i don't want to get a bad grade if i do. i think i'll do a good job otherwise because i've had a lot of experience with babies. i have 5 neices and 3 nephews. 3 of my sisters are pregnant again. i'm pretty excited. but anyways i think this baby is going to ruin my weekend but who knows. any advice?

No offense but I hope it DOES ruin your weekend. Now dont take that the wrong way but I think its a great way for teenagers to learn about the possible consequences first hand.
I think you'll surprise yourself with how easily you'll wake up when it cries. I hope you get a great grade and dont worry its only one weekend, it could be 18 years!

I hope you get a great grade, but just remember it is just a weekend, could you imagine what it would be like if it was not? You will be great, I think that this is a great idea, I love my babies do not get me wrong but the first weekend is hard if no experience before. Sleep deprivation is huge for everyone it is the hardest part of caring for a child....but the baby is just so wonderful..... you will see when you have your own child.....
Let us know how it goes!

It would be nice if more schools did this. But my advice to you is when baby naps you nap. Count your weekend as not going to happen unless you can get a baby sitter...LOL!!! I know it mechanical. But other than that I have five kids and they mostly needed feed and changed and burped and the whole nine but I learned the most important thing besides learning to multi task is to nap when you have the opportunity.

I think it is neat how they make you do that for school but it is nothing like the real deal trust me. With the real ones the best advice I can give is sleep when he/she is sleeping. I didnt even know they had mechanical babies now that you guys used. How cool is that. Does it like monitor what you do or something?
