There are many reasons why someone may choose to not own a house. We bought our first home almost 7 years ago, and let me tell you it's quite overrated in my opinion. Our mortgage is almost triple what our rent had been. And you can say well at least you're paying for equity in your house- except of course house prices are dropping in the US, so after 7 years of paying that mortgage we'll be lucky to sell our house for what we owe NOW on the house, forget about any profit to put towards a new place. The taxes, water bill, insurance is all in addition to the mortgage and of course renting you don't have those bills. Then every time something breaks, we have an old house something is always breaking, it costs a fortune to fix it.

a house is a great investment and it is important for a person to invest to a house so as to prepare for his future family. however if we can't invest immediately we should not oblige ourselves too much. we can purchase a lot first and later on invest for the house top be constructed to your lot. i heard these days there are lots of house and lot for sale at cheaper installment prices, that's the best avenue for us to own a house if we have no enough money to buy in cash.

I dont think its a necessity but more of a goal for most people. I think it all has to do with where you are in your life. Such things as careers, spouses, kids all affect when you can or will want to purchase a home. I hope I can one day soon hopefully next year.

Houses are not for everyone. I for one have to live in house. I could never live in an apartment or anything. I have grown up in a house and have never lived in one. But I do have many friends that do live in apartments and they just aren't for me. It is not a necessity that everyone must have a house. You choose where you want to live and no one can tell you different. If you want to live in a house, condo, apartment or a shack it is totally up to you. You are the one that has to live there not the rest of the world.

a house is a must for everyone of us. but if you can't afford to buy a new one and when someone asks you if you have a house for yourself, don't hesitate to answer if you don't have one. at least you have in mind that you're doing your best to get and to save some money to buy for your house in the near future
