Why doesn't God do God's work?

This is a question I've been asking myself a lot lately. Granted, I'm very upset with God, life, and man right now; but the question to me seems a valid one.
Some have said that it's not God but man who has created all the problems in the world. For the most part, I would have to agree. But it seems to me that this game we call life, is gods game, he made the rules, and it really appears as if he just turns a blind eye to all the suffering of his so called "beloved" children.
If you go back to the lives of the various prophets, they all suffered too, often more than the common man. However they were expected and in some cases forced to do Gods work.
I hear all the time that we must do gods work. That god works in mysterious ways, and that he works through people. But this just brings me back to the same question of this post...
Why doesn't God do his own damn work and actually take an interest in the lives of man?
What do you think, and I seriously want to hear your opinions, because I can't figure this one out...

Hey pal, I don't think you are alone in your quest to seek for answers. You be sure that there are actually millions of us who ask why there seems to be a prevalence of suffering, problems, and the fact that there are really evil things that happen in our world.
But you see, I think that inasmuch as it ticks to see how bad our experiences are, I believe that there is always a reason to seek for the daily amount of blessings that we are receiving each day too. I mean, look at you. You probably are upset and really confused. But that does not mean you are stripped of all the graces and luck this world can offer - you wake up everyday, you breath and you continue to live, if you are well then you are not like many people who suffer from illness, you have your loved ones, your friends, etc. I mean, I am sure you are suffering from many painful experiences right now. But it does not mean we have to be so hard on ourselves and blame why God is not doing his work in the process.
I think you are an honest person, trying to be true to what you feel at the moment. And that is a very essential requisite to an authentic spirituality. We cannot hold something back in the face of God. And for that I admire you.
Nevertheless, I think that you also have to realize that God is not the root of our suffering. Neither are we the only reason why we suffer. We suffer because of many other people's fault. Or many times it's ours to make. But the case remains the same, God does not want you to suffer as well. When you suffer, He suffers as well. That's how close he can get. But be assured that when you suffer, or there are nasty things happening right now, God will not deliver you from that like magic. Instead, like a father watching his son fall to the ground while playing, He is asking you right now to stand up and rise again. He is asking you to be courageous and stand firm. And he is asking you to continue walking despite the many bad things that have already happened because it will MERELY SHOW HOW STRONG HE CREATED YOU TO BE.
When we fall, there is no way but up. When we are in a dark place, there is no way but to go to the light. I believe we have to choose and keep on choosing to stay alive in this really trying times. This will only show how God works in us, because of the resolve, strength and tenacity we possess.
Goodluck pal. Anything I can help you with, just hit in.
