i thing the weirdest pet i ever had is my pet mosquito... when i was in grade school,we had some experiment about mosquitoes and we have to put a larvae in a container until it matures and become a mosquito but i think i like what i have seen and since im the one who made it big i began to make it my pet and bring always my small bottle where my mosquitoes are...it all ended when i dropped my bottle and the mosquitoes flew away....

My mom had baby oppossums (spelling) when I was really little. I think the mommma had gotten hit by a car or something. Obviously those arent something you can keep once they get bigger. I dont remember when she got rid of them but I figured they would fit your weird pet topic.

This is the first time I have ever heard of a pet mosquito!
I've had a few weird pets. Ducks, a turkey, a hermit crab, and salamanders are some that come to mind. With our first duck, my husband and I raised her indoors when she was a duckling and she was very tame. We hope to be lucky enough to have another duck like this in the near future.

Well thank you. We have since had another duck and she was indeed just as sweet, if not sweeter than our first one, but we lost her last year to a wild animal. I don't think we'll be getting any more in the future, at least not without some sort of housing to protect it anyway.

When I was younger, my family used to go on what we would call "road trips". Not anything too far away, just a drive through the back roads and through the mountains close by.
We saw something in the middle of the road. It was a box turtle. I had to have him. My dad brought him to the car, and we noticed he had three legs. Apparently he had had a rough life.
We brought him home, and he lived outside under the bushes in the front yard.
He ran away.
My three legged turtle.. ran away.

Now this is a funny story. Sorry you lost your pet.
I'd have to say the weirdest pet we had was a gerbil. It belonged to our kids but I detested the ugly thing. I was the person who cleaned the cage. I would transfer the gerbal from the cage to a container so I could clean up the mess. It's tail came off in my hand in the process. It was funny yet I felt bad. From that time forward, I had to pick it up with my hands and that really freaked me out.

LOL! Your to funny. When I was in school we had a worm farm and on vacations certian people would take it home. I got to once. I remember my mom wasnt to happy about it but hey they stay in the tank and dont "go" on the floor and they dont make noise. I would feed them plain cooked oatmeal and watch them turn white. You know a worm is brown because it eats dirt? When you feed it oatmeal it turns white. Pretty neat to see.
A few years ago we found a baby squirrel in our yard. I dont know what happened to the mom or if she didnt want the baby but there he was laying in the yard. We took him in and fed him. He was a great little guy. Squirrels are very nice creatures if you raise them. When he got big enough we let him free and he stayed in our trees for a long time. I think eventually it got to cold and he moved on.

I don't think I have had any really strnage pets, as a child I used to collect frogspawn and watch it change into tadpoles and eventually frogs and I had newts also. Kept stick insects too for a while. I had a pet duck once. These days I have cats, rabbits, fish and a guinea pig. Ellie :D
