Is there any way to freshen up french fries that have gone soggy? Sometimes on my way home I will stop by McDonald's and pick up a meal but by the time I reach home the fries are limp! Does anybody know how to get them back to their original crispness?

You can put them in a hot oven for a few minutes, or try sort of "stir frying" them in a dry skillet on top of the stove. Don't try the microwave, it will ruin them.

I did try popping them into the oven - they turned browner but were still soft so I HAD to take them out before they got darker! Lol. What temperature should the oven be?

I'm not sure I've paid that much attention, but probably around 350? I've crisped them up like that, so I don't know what the problem might be, sorry.

heat them up in some hot oil,In the take-aways they par-cook them and then cook them to finish when ordered.

Yup I think maybe re-frying would do the trick however I'm just a tad uncomfortable about adding yet more oil to them. But then again it would be miles better than soggy fries, right? :D

You can pop them into a toaster oven to crispen them back up. I do this often and it works great for me. Another thing that you can do is to tell the person you order freom that you want no salt on your fries. This will make it to where they will have you make you a fresh batch and you can put salt on them later.

No salt eh? That's new to me. Thanks for the tip!
