I need to store some video files in AVI or WMV format online for some friends to download. Which filehost (free ) would you recommend. Is there any that are reliable and also do not delete your files and are also easy to download from and reliable to download from. I've seen so many of these on the net and am confused about which one to use. The file sizes are about 50-100 MB each. Thanks!

I'd recommend rapidshare or megaupload. With rapidshare you can put up files up to 100mb in size, the only problem is that after your friends download one video, they have to wait a while (length of time depends on file size) before they can download another video, unless they're a rapidshare premium member. With megaupload you can upload files up to 500mb in size, I think there is a limit on the amount of mb's a user can download from megaupload each day, but I'm not sure what that limit is (I haven't passed it, the "limit" is based on what I've heard).

I've had major problems with megaupload here in India - never been able to download a single file from their servers!

Rapidshare isn't a good site. It will remove your file if nobody download your file for 90 days. Megaupload is better. It won't remove your file if you have sign up. But your friends have to wait for 25 minutes before they download the file. I am from China. I know some good China sites . g.zhubajie.com is also a good site. You can put up files up to 200mb size. But you need to sign up or the file will be deleted in 7 days.

It's a good way to store video files. But we can't download files from the site. We can only use some programs like Vidown to download files from these sites. I know a site named Metacafe. it's great.

There is so many free file hosting out there. If you want to just store files and share I recommend you to use MediaFire.Otherwise if you feeling like want to share and earn, then you should use Ziddu. Both are reliable and easy to use.Furthermore, both hosting allows for parallel downloads which means your transfer rate is much more faster than others.Give it a try.You might love it.

I started using mediafire just now. Thanks. How much does ziddu pay you for each download?
