Do you stay home or go out to watch movies?

I haven't been to the movies outside my home for years! The price for going to the movies is staggering these days. First you have the price of gas to attend with. After paying to get in, and paying for the snacks, what do you have left?
At home, I'm comfortable, can invite as many friends as I please, go potty without missing a beat of my show, and I can talk during the movie...lols

We stay home most of the time and watch movies. We subscribe to Netflix and we love it. We have a three year old daughter and we took her once to the movies to see Enchanted. She loved it but the price to go see a movie is outrageous never mind the popcorn, candy, and soda. So we just sit home and make microwave popcorn and pop in the DVD and watch it on the 42" HDTV!! Just as good as the movie theater in my opinion. Plus there's no ones big fat head sitting in front of you or someone's child kicking the back of your seat!

I mostly do movies at home for the same reasons you mention. And, I don't know if your library does this, but the library where I live will rent DVDs for $1.00 for a week! (I still mostly rent from the video store, but it's cool to me to know that this exists and I intend to start utilizing it more).
Sometimes, though, I do like to go to the movie theatre - before 6 pm if I can manage it and with minimal (if any) snacks. Most recently, I took my son to see "Horton Hears A Who" after he got out of school the day it opened. The movie theatre does a kids combo that's like $5 for popcorn and a small piece of candy and a small drink so I got that for him and had a bottle of water in my bag for me and it was just great. That's always been my favorite Dr. Seuss book (and one of my favorite books period, regardless of author) and I think they did a good job with it. I didn't want to wait for video on that one.

we usually stay home. once in a great while we will go to the theater. we've started movie nights. we'll pick movies, one for the kids and one for us and then we'll go home and make some popcorn and all cuddle up together on the couch to watch the movie the kids picked. then we'll put them to bed and cuddle up on the couch to watch the movie we picked. our movie rental place has free kids movies, which makes it even better because we usually only have to pay for ours unless the kids want a movie that has just come out.

I stay at home. I go to the theater on occasion, doesn't happen often as I have 4 kids 5 and under. We have the movie channels with our sattilite so mostly we just watch those and on occasion if there's something we really want to see thats new on dvd we will rent it.
