iPods/ MP3 Players, Are they antisocial? / myLot

So, is listening to an iPod in the company of others, for example in a restaurant, rude? Personally, I don't think so, but I know a few people who get annoyed with people who listen to music in public.

i dont think it is anti-social, but somepeople do. i feel it is only unsociable when people have both headphones in because you dont think they are listening to you when you talk or when they have the music up really loud because then you no there not listening

If the purpose of your time in public is to BE WITH OTHER PEOPLE then it is rude, but if you are alone in a reataurant, if you chose to go somewhere alone, not seeking the company of other people, then there should be no problem listening to your own personal music. People who are annoyed should mind their own business.
