This is very true. I did the service for AIM so that my instant messages from people can online, go to my phone when I'm offline. I'm hardly even on instant messaging any more.

Hello Lilma.
If I'm not near a computer that has internet connection I usually text or call the person/s, but if I'm near a computer with internet connection I instant message him/her. And if they don't respond I call them.
I usually prefer to call somebody instead of text or instant message because you can tell more about a person when you hear her voice.
It's instant message or text you can know what they are felling because you can't see or hear them.
Take care and have a great day

Well, I use both of them but I think computer is more often for me. because the cell phone always charges me for every byte I recieve or send. While the amount of money I spend for my regular usage is already high for me. Of course, using your phone for instant messaging is a great innovation but also it is not for me because I don't wanna spend more credits for my little cell phone. I prefer using my desktop pc instead :)

I text more often than I instant chat. Instant chatting is too disruptive to what I'm doing on the computer. Also it requires that both people be on the computer at the same time which rarely happens with me and my friends.

I am usually using text message service rather than instan message service. I usually use my leisure time messaging with my friends. Also mostly send forwarded messages to my friends and have a good collection of forwarded messages.

I haven't gotten the hang of text messaging on my phone, yet. I don't have unlimited text, so I don't usually need to use it. I prefer talking rather than texting. I don't really do Instant Messaging, but I prefer that because I can type pretty fast. But, in reality, I prefer to either send a full e-mail or do IM. But, I'm just an old lady, so I guess I can't keep up.
