Do you judge people by their nationalities?

Don't take me wrong, there is no offense here.I am just wondering wether people judge others just by the places they come from. You know, there are a lot of stereotypes.Such as the German are always careful, the Chinese are hardworking, the Brits are polite, and the US are open and easy... Actually,I don't apply my own prejudice to everyone from different country. To be honest, I used to be,but after I grown up and got the chances to live in diverse countries,I changed my mind. And now,I know that giving chances to the others, there would be people suit me well,no matter where they come from. So, what about you?Do you judge people by their nationalities?

I do not judge, but I always have the impression that chinese people know marshial arts or can play table-tennis, or the italians always eat pasta... I think most people do that becaude we are given this image through movies...Wouldn't you agree?

Well, most chinese people do play table tennis, and as for the marshial arts, actually, some senior citizents in this country take this as part of their lives, and they can play much better than the mid-aged or the younth!

i only 19 and in the 19 years of experience ive learned not to judge others by there nationalities. i believe that to be like judging a book by its cover...and you never truly find out the true personality by judging their outer appearence. i like to get to know others first then do the judging...that way i can judge on knowledge not on stupidity..would u agree?

Yes!You are right! One can never judge others by their appearences. It is their inward that matters!

No, I try to take people individually. I worked in a call center for 8 years and I'll leave the nationality of most of the people I spoke with out of it. I will say I really hate stupid people, though and there are an awful lot of them out there.

no offense for me..coz i also judge people through their nationality,,,though sounds like too much in discriminating races coz others may defend their self as "Not at All".. but in the name of the country where they came from, they're counted as one...

Man has his own nation. This is true all the time. But when comes to communicating with others as a common person,he only stands for himself. So it's not good to judge people from his/her nationality. The first impression should determine whether this is the very person you'd like to communicate with.

hmm.. i think i used to have that kind of thinking.. but now that im kind of seeing much of the reality of this world, i tend not to do so anymore and just judge a person by himself and not by his nationality.

Hi wnbwnbwnb, maybe I will.I only judge first impression by their nationality.I will further to know about them if I have chances.I think it is normal, you cann't say I am wrong unless you give more condition. It will not be a bad thing to judge a person by nationality.Of course,I mean the first impression.

I can sterotype nationalities in my head but when dealing with an individual, well, I treat them as an individual.

This might sound silly, but I always think people from other countries will be automatically more interesting. I end up asking all kinds of questions about the person's language and culture, which can probably get pretty annoying. Of course, there are boring people from every country, so I am sometimes disappointed.

no, i never judge a person by their nationalities. if someone ask you where are you from, that just means he wanted know you more. person from an exact country has their own charactoristic. we should keep repect to them all. though you can not agrre with it.
