How much are you willing to pay for good shoes?

Well, I finally found out what department I will be working at in Dillards. Women's shoes. I'm pretty optomistic about it. I'm also thrilled, because maybe now I can find a pair of shoes to stand in all day. Except for my Crocs, which I can't wear because they aren't in dress code, I have no shoes that don't kill my feet by the end of the day. I'll tell you what, if your feet hurt you are just miserable. So even though their shoes are a bit pricey, it may be worth the investment, just to have comfort. How much are you willing to pay for a good pair of shoes? Or whats the most you have payed for a pair and were they comfortable?

low or high - similar style
My friend, you are always in your bed or in your shoes. I always pay high price for bed and for shoes. I have one pair of high heels that I can run with. I always look for high quality but for less. If I have to walk a lot, I would prefer medium heels.

It all depends on your payments. Cost of living in China is different than in USA. For $15 in USA is hard to buy slippers made in China. You can make living with $300 in many countries.

When I was younger and richer I would buy shoes anything up to $300. But now that I am older and poorer, or at least have less disposable income, I look for the cheapest that I can get. $40 is about average. One area that we have never skimped on is children's shoes. You only get one set of feet so we have happily (he says through gritted teeth) paid out a small fortune for our daughter's shoes, and her feet are perfect still.

It sounds like you have spared no expense with your daughter, emotionally, monetarily or otherwise. I admire that.

Thank you. She's the only one we've got (there were others but they didn't make it to full term. So we decided to settle at one). She has undoubtedly been a bit spoilt, but she is very well balanced with it. I can remember when she was little, if she had a bag of sweets we would make her share them with others. More than once she shared all her sweets and was left with none. But never complained. That still jerks my heart strings.

Congratulations on your new job! About shoes: If money were no object, I'd buy shoes like Carrie Bradshaw, the collectible kind, and spend $600 on them, because how marvelous to skip down the streets of New York gracefully in a beautiful pair of Manolos, Choos, or Lobotains. Realistically, the most I've spent on shoes is about $125 and I think it was money well spent, because comfortable feet are priceless. You know where I have found attractive, comfortable shoes inexpensively? The Sketchers outlet. I wore a pair of Sketchers high heel sandals to my wedding and nobody was the wiser. I was able to stand all evening and even waltzed in them!

That would be nice, but I can't wear anything with an open toe. Guess what though, yesterday I got a pair of Coach shoes. They were on clearance from $185 to 19.25! I was so excited.

The last pair of shoes I bought for work cost me £30 ($60) Hobos cushion comfort so even though not too fashionable ideal for work and really comfortable so well worth paying for. I don't usually spend that much, I find I get them for about £10 ($20) for occasional wear. Last week my daughter bought a pair of very high heeled shoes to go with an outfit she will be wearing next week for £50 ($100), she loves them but I would have done a weekly shop with that and she will probably only wear them once or twice before being slung in bottom of wardrobe! Oh to be young again. Ellie :D

Must be nice to have the money to be able to sling a pair of shoes in your closet after only a few wears. LOL. Although, I do have a pair of boots like that, but I'm thinking about sending them to my mother.

If I bought shoes just because I thought they were cute, I'd have a whole closet full of shoes that I could never wear.

Well i am willing to pay a lot for shoes. Even just the uncomfortable buty stylish ones. I have multiple pairs of Nike Dunks. If i was just looking for a comfortable non-named brand pair of shoes i wouldnt be willing to pay more than 50 bucks. Unless it is a named brand why would i pay a lot of money for it?

Agreed, I wouldn't pay alot for a no name brand either. And I don't even think I'd go as high as $50.

The best shoes I ever had were made in Italy. They were made of soft leather... were looking great and felt ultra confortable. Unfortunately... they cost twice the price of the best shoes made in Australia. These days... it is not so much what you are willing to pay... but what you have to pay if you want good quality. You either go to Kmart and buy a pair of shoes for $30.00 or you go to a shoe shop where the prices start at $150.00 Again... like with everything else... you will get what you pay for.

You are absolutely right. You get what you pay for. That really is a very true statement.

The most I have ever spent on a pair of shoes was around $70. I have bought shoes but mostly on sale. I would invest in a good pair of comfy shoes even if it cost a bit more since you're going to need them for your job - standing in uncomfortable shoes all day is a killer. How about hush puppies - flat ones?

Anything I buy has to be on sale. I won't buy it otherwise. I was thinking of a pair of Doc Martins. They are supposed to be real good.

SAS shoes - These shoes are American Made well cushioned, and very comfortable.
I usually pay from $100 to $150 for a pair of SAS Shoes SAS Shoes have been a favorite of volkssport walkers since the 1980's. These comfort shoes are very well cushioned and flexible. They were my personal favorite when I had a stand-up job. They were the only shoes I could wear without having foot pain at the end of the day. These shoes are made in America at San Antonio Texas, and are not sold on-line.

I wouldn't be able to wear those shoes because they are not dressy enough. We have to really dress up where I work.

I am not willing to pay more than $100! No way I will let people exploit their brand name, reputation and I am not a fool so they can rip me off! There are so many brands that really sell amazing shoes but, I will only buy what I afford. After all I don't believe they worth their price since you can find convenient shoes with reasonable prices.

you are so right if your feet hurt you are really miserable. I am doomed to wear orthopedic special shoes with a brace on my left foot because my doctor at the time did not know a ruptured tendon from a sprained ankle and sent me much too late to a podiatrist who told me that I had a ruptured tendon and would have to wear a brace for the rest of mylife and nixed the idea of repair surgery probably because I was and still am on an hmo.so I am stuck with a co pay of some four hundred dollars which I now do not have so do not know what will happen when these shoes wear out. will cross that bridge when I get to it as am okay for now.hope you cah find some shoes that will let you be comfortable all day.

I remember when people use to swear by Birkenstocks, just like they do the Crocs now. And I also know that they aren't cheap shoes.

well I don't have any money for good shoes, but I would pay what ever it cost for a good pair. My boyfriend had to have corrected shoes made and it cost him 600 for a pair.

The most I ever paid for a pair of shoes once was around 250.00 is was a new pair of black formal shoes to go with my new tux last year. Normally I owuln't spend more than 80-100 on shoes but these were a really great pair discounted from 500 so I decided to treat myself.

First of all, congratulation for your new job. However, do you think expensive shoes will always give comfort to the user? I dont think so, I have experienced so many times, so now I always look for affordable pair of shoes, cheap and have style :) so that I can buy another shoes in trend without hesitation.

I have no idea. It depends on my income ans savings. If I have enough money in hand, I will buy a pair of expensive shoes. To me, money is not a problem at that time. But without enough money, I have to think twice before act, for there are many place need money in my life.

I am terrible for going for the cheapest shoes that I can find, I just cannot afford to pay out a lot for shoes no matter how long they will benefit me in the long term. Really I would probably save more if I did invest in a good pair of shoes but my way of looking at things sometimes is a bit bizarre! I did invest in some boots once that were £65.00 I had always wanted some sexy decent boots and these were gorgeous, but this was an extreme splash out and they were on a catalogue. I think I am still paying for them now actually and I had them last year!!

The most I have ever spent was $80 on a pair of tennis shoes and on dress shoes the most was about $25.My tennis shoes last 2-3 years so it is worth it I will buy a black pair and a white pair.
