I know many people suffer from this condition and usually just use an anti dandruff shampoo to get rid of it but like what if you could not and so what else is there to try? Does anyone know what causes it and is it from anything we consume, does it mean we are lacking in some vitamins or minerals?

I think dandruff is caused by an infection on the scalp, like a fungus or something. I assume that is why special shampoos can get rid of it. Head and Shoulders is supposed to be making better shampoos now. You should try that.

Yes I did hear the same thing and I have used many different shampoos but perhaps there is another cause to it. I wonder why it comes and I have been thinking about whether there are any natural ways to cure it or if there are any other solutions out there for it.

So you really think it to be like a type of cure for the condition in a way? That is very interesting but does not soap dry out the skin? Like it is a type of soap right? This is very interesting but I am concerned because having this condition means your scalp is already dry does it not?

Yes I heard that lime too is a good thing as a last off rinse after shampoo. I think it helps to remove stickiness and adds a glow or shine to your hair. I think it helps regulate the acid or something along those lines. I think yogurt is very good for the scalp too as it has lots of zinc too. I have not heard of amla what is it exactly? I am so happy with everyone's suggestions and really love to learn new ways of dealing with the things that can be problematic for many people.

Hi bluemars. The doctors say that is a excess of oil in the scalp or if you use a product in your hair that you let go into the scalp and stay in. That can be a conditioner you use and don't rinse well. Anyway you can try clean your hair with a sulphur soap and let stay for a few minutes. Sulphur is very good to dandruff. A friend of mine overcome his dandruff with this. Good luck!

Oh really I always thought it to be a fungal thing, but yeah I guess products building up in your hair can cause it too. Thank you so much for the information and also where can I get that sulphur soap you speak of. What is it exactly and how does it work if you know that would be appreciated. Thanks again.

Some says it may also cause by too much worrying or stress in short. Neuregena anti residue shampoo may help anyone experiencing dandruff. But sad to say this product was already gone in the market.

Well there are many people with it and many people do stress out about a majority of things. I can understand how stress can effect the body in many different ways and mostly negatively. It can be very sad to say the least. I think that sometimes certain shampoos do help but there are some on the market that don't help at all and actually don't make the problem any better. So yes it can be annoying going through the whole process and not being able to find a solution of any kind. I think some natural home made rinses have helped a great deal of people, that makes sense but I wonder which ones have really provided a great solution to the problem. I did hear about some essential oils helping but I don't know about that because I don't like the feeling of oils on the hair.
