Do you think cranberry juice is an acquired taste?

Do you think cranberry juice is an "acquired" taste for some people? I used to never like it. I always thought it tasted too bitter and not sweet enough. Then I began to try it with a little water diluted. It wasn't as bad as I had previously thought. Now I love it. It doesn't have to be diluted. It's delicious plain and also tastes great in mixed drinks.
Do you like cranberry juice? Did you have to get used to the bitter taste, or have you always liked it?

Cranberry juice is very good for the bowels and for IBS (irritable Bowel Syndrome) and it is often recommended by health experts and even doctors! Once you get past the bitterness taste the flavour grows on you and I drink it all the time now, it is very refreshing and thirst quenching and full of vitamin C and a great alternative to orange juice. The unsweetened one is best because of the sugar content fruit juices contain.

Yes I always choose natural juices. I don't like added sweetener and I don't like the cranberry juice cocktails either so much.

Yeah, I think it's definitely acquired. I couldn't stand cranberry juice when I was younger, but I love it now, by itself or mixed. I think some people's taste buds just change as they get older - nowadays I like a lot of sour/bitter foods that I hated as a kid.

Yes I agree with this, I do think our tastes change throughout life. I also have opened my mind to experience different things at this age as well -- whereas when I was a child I was quick to turn my nose up at certain things. There is not usually any harm in trying something, and if I don't usually like it I will give it just one more chance. If I don't like it the second time I usually don't keep it up...

yes it could be an acquired taste, but I have always loved it. I was never crazy over sweet tasting juices anyhow, and it is so good for you, especially if you have bladder problems

I cannot stand the taste of Cranberry juice at all! We always have it as my daughter has suffered from UTI's since she was a baby and it is very good for this type of thing - she is only 6 and she love it! I think lots of things are an acquired taste - when I was younger my Grandad always drank tomato juice and the thought made me feel sick - now I love it! lol xxx

Man, it is strange but my boys LOVE cranberry juice. I buy it when I think I am getting a bladder infection and go to get a glass the next day and it is all gone. I am glad that they like it, but I tell them, you can at least let me get a little taste at least.

I think it is aquired. I use to only be able to drink it if there was vodka and lime with it. I had a bad problem with UTI though and the doctors always tell you to drink cranberry juice. I started putting ice in it and making it really cold and now I actually kind of enjoy it.

I don't like cranberry juice straight but I do like crangrape juice. It is half grape juice and half cranberry juice. The grape makes the cranberry sweet enough for me.I like straight grape juice but it effects me like caffeine,if I drink too much, I get jitterly. But If I have cran grape juice,I am okay.

I don't even like it with booze. I think it is an accquired taste. It always reminds me of when I was little and had a bladder infection and had to drink copious amounts of it and how much I couldn't stand it. I think it scarred me for life.

I do think it is an acquired taste yes, but it is very good for cystitis! That was the only reason I ever had to drink it. I never really got used to the taste of it and I tried many different ways of having it, I just do not like it!

Oh, I can't stand cranberry juice. I can't drink it by itself at all, I tend to gag. The only juice that I can drink that has cranberry in it, is Wal-Mart brand white cranberry peach juice. It's not so strong in cranberry flavor, and has a nice peachy taste to it. I really like that juice, but whenever we get it in the house, everyone flocks to the refrigerator, and I hardly ever get any.
