I wish I could be just like John Wayne

Many people admired John Wayne, as well as many other stars. My father wanted to be James Dean and I call my daughter Scarlet O'Hara because she is so dramatic sometimes. Have you ever wished you could be like one of the stars or have you ever been told you look like one? Which star would you like to be most like?

Mel Gibson of course! 20 years back... during the "Lethal Weapons" movies. Even so... he is getting old... like me... he is a very smart man... controversial like me... telling it like it is.

I love most of his movies. If you liked "The Patriot" and "Braveheart"... you probably will like "Apocalypto" as well... even so he is not acting in it. He produced it.

I've never heard of it, but I'm definitely going to look for it now.

I love Mel Gibson. He's really good looking and a darn good actor. I loved The Patriot and Braveheart. Both wonderful, wonderful movies.

My son is John Wayne?Wyatt Earp reincarnated! I named him after John Wayne (his middle names) so it worked out just fine! He is on the same side of the law as those two also! I am more like Lucy Ricardo. Always trying so hard to be sucessful and "heart in the right place" and make things work well, but sadly, not accomplishing many of them!

I love Lucy Ricardo. Its one of the few shows that has actually made me laugh out loud with its simplicity. I remember she ate some plastic grapes and her teeth got stuck in them. I laughed so hard.

I know them all by heart - I think you are talking about the one where they hadn't eaten and she was hungry so she picked up an apple at Ricky's boss's house and bit into it thinking it was real, and her whole mouth got stuck to it as she bit down! Classic comedy and side splitting hilarity with every single scene. The absolute best ever on TV.

When I was little I use to pretend I was Wonder Woman or Private Benjamn. I use to get out a rope like Wonder Woman had or put on my dads old ary out fit. He was in the army reserves but the jacket I could wear. I am not sure what actor or actress I would want to be like now though. Although John Wayne was a very good actor.

I am not sure that he was a star that many myLotters will remember. But when I was in my late teens my hair was 3 feet long. My mother, of al people, told me that I was Tiny Tim's double. No not the Dickens character, but the singer of "Tiptoe through the tulips fame". It's painful to watch but here he is: www.youtube.com/watch?v=skU-jBFzXl0&feature=related More recently I have been told that I look at little like George Clooney, from the rear!! Such is life.

I remember Tiny Tim. LOL. I won't dare comment any further. I don't know what George Clooney looks like from behind, but it couldn't be all bad.

When I was younger I used to wish I could be like Ginger Rogers and dance just like she did. I used to even try to dance but it did not look anything like what Ginger Rogers had done.lol and I used to wish I could be like Frank Sinatra and just croon away to my hearts contend but alas my voice just was not quite that good. I can't say anyone has every told me I looked like a star but I meet people on the street here and they always say dont I know you from somewhere and I have to tell them yes I worked in the Tustin libraryand you saw me a lot of times.lol

Yes, Ginger Rogers was quite the dancer. I never thought her partner Fred was all that good looking though. As for Frank Sinatra, yes he definitely knew how to woo them, didn't he?

I wish I could be just like Bill Cosby. He has a way of making people laugh and he takes his experience from his own life. I also would like to be like John Wayne. He was a pillar among men in my book.

I don't know. Sometimes I find it hard enough to be myself.lol I do like Jennifer Connelly. She handles herself with grace and poise. She is very smart. So if pressed for an answer that would be my choice.
