The rock bands today do not measure up to the bands of the 70's and 80's. They lack imagination, and most of the music sounds the same. Quite a few of the lead singers are Ronnie James Deo wanna be's. I find that todays heavy metal is just heavy rythmn without any variation. When listening to the oldies such as The Who and Zep and Deep Purple you had variation and excellent flow to the music. Does anyone feel the same about this topic?

I know exactey what you mean. Come to think of it I feel pretty much the same way!!
With that in mind, I'm gonna try extra hard in diverting my music into the right path. I want people to enjoy my music and appreciae the effort I will put into it =]
So what music has the best variation today, I mean modern Music.

I agree that the bands from "back in the day" are definitely classics, but I do thing there are some good bands out there today. My favorite is Daughtry. He has an awesome voice and his songs are good (in my opinion).
