I am trying to eek out 2 more weeks for bringing our cats to the vet. Sigil not only needs his yearly shots, but he needs his teeth cleaned. I can really tells he needs it, but I can't get time off to take him for the dental appointment for 2 weeks. We are already giving them hard food that is suppose to help with tarter, greenies, and hard treats (some made to help with tarter). And he has taken it upon him self to chew on anything with thick mesh like backpack straps. So, any ideas of what I can do before then?

Just keep on what you are doing. It is only two weeks away, & giving him greenies etc will help.
I feed both my cats the dry food that is especially for Dental. It is a whiskas brand. Our older cat has teeth that are nearly at the stage for cleaning, & I a, hoping to delay it by feeding her the dental dry food.
It is quite expensive getng cats teeth cleaned at the vets, as they need an anasthetic.

Last year we paid $210 USD for his teeth to be cleaned and to have 2 small tooth pulled. I don't know what we are going to do with him. I really don't want to have to get him anesthetized every year.

My vet always recommend a particular brand of dry cat food in these circumstances. It is called Hills Diet. It is quite expensive, but she assures us that it keeps their teeth from needing more treatment, hopefully.

When I asked the vet about it last year, she said that the food they are on is fine. The food is one that is shaped a certain way that it is suppose to help get rid of tarter. He just has bad teeth...He also has bad sinuses

I have never heard of a cat dentist. lol. Or its the vet but that's what the appointment is for ?
I think my mom may have tried to brush the cats teeth once in a while.. i know she brushed the dogs teeth. lol. I thought this was silly, but i guess she's not the only one that does it huh ?

Well the Vet appointment is for their yearly check up & shots. She will look at his teeth then and recommend a course of action. The Vet does all the cleaning so they are the dentist.
