so you think to be an at home parent is to be a bum? Obviously you have no kids, and have not babysitted for anyone so you can't understand how much of a job it is to raise kids

To me, it would depend on the circumstances. If it is due to Health reasons, or you having a Career or profession within the home, than it is a Good thing. Only thing that tends to bother me, is Men who feel a need to want to do it, and do nothing with their lives. They become co-dependant on their wives, and are what I consider Lazy, and most of the time never want to lift a finger in helping with the kids, or the housework as well.

that's true, but then he's just a bum and not technically an at home dad.

I think that it is wonderful when a father dedicates his life to his children.

My dad was a work-at-home dad, so he took over as a "stay-at-home dad" also. I can't say I missed out on anything by my mom not being home. The only real "difficulty" I ever had growing up was explaining that my dad was the one who stayed at home. People so often (and even now) assume that "dad works", and often ask "does your mom work too?" I eventually just began telling people both my parents work-one outside the home, and one at home. I can say that my dad had far more patience when it came to us (bratty!) kids and dealing with us all day long!

i think it would be a great thing ! as long as the go to work mom makes enought to cover all the bills and then some, its fine with me to be a stay at home dad. Might be alot of fun, and alot of work.

My husband would love to stay home. the problem is for me to find a job that pays equal to what my husband is making now or more. Jobs arround here in my field of work usually dont pay very good so right now we have no choice but to have my husband work. I would love to boe the one working.

I think for a man , you should come out and work yea . Unless your wife can manage the family expense and she don't mind it yea

I think it would be great for a dad to be a stay at home dad as long as he is happy with it and the wife is content on working out of the home also.

I sometimes I were out working and my husband to be an at home dad, but I don't have enough work experience to get paid enough to pay all the bills so I just have to wait, thanks for replying
