First I have a couple questions for you to be able to give any advice. What size fish tank do you have or are the fish in a pond? Next question How long have you had the fish? The reason for these questions is you may have to many fish now. If the fish are babies, then I can't tell the males from the females. What type of filter do you have for the goldfish?

Your fish tank has to many fish now. Please don't add more fish, which will make this problem worse. The only suggestion I can make is to get another fish tank to move some of them out of the tank. Goldfish need a lot of room to stay alive and be healthy.

I wouldn't get any more fish. They may be crowded or stressed. One rule of thumb is to have at least a gallon of water per inch of fish. So if you have fish that are three inches long, and there are 7 of them, then you need to have a 20/21 gallon tank and then add more because they aren't full grown yet.

To clarify, I don't mean "add more" as in get more fish, but add more as in take into account, they will need something even bigger than that.

Goldfish should have 20 gallons of water per fish. That means that your tank is overcrowded. You also do not tell how long you have had the fish. That might also have caused the die off of the fish, by not having the tank "cycled" so that the ammonia (that is given off by the fish) is too high for the fish to be able to stand. Since the tank is over crowded, why do you wish to know the males and the females? Surely you do not wish to have them spawn in the than and overcrowd the tank even more.
