I make my own food for my dog. If you knew the stuff they put in store bought pet food, you would cringe.
At first I thought making my own food would be expensive and time consuming but it's not really. I buy everything in bulk and I can make up a batch of food that I divide into serving sized container and freeze in a couple hours.
I even make treats for my dog which she goes bananas over.
Very simple to make. One of my dog cookie recipes is just beef baby food mixed with some other ingredients and baked in the over for half an hour then left to cool.

Such as: Bacon Bites, Beef Twists, Bulldog Brownies,Cheese and Bacon Biscuits, chow chow stew and Mutt Loaf.

I have a 12 year old Rotweiller. He used to eat dry food, but as he's gotten older, it's so much easier on his teeth for him to eat wet food. So we feed him 2 cans a day. (Plus he gets the leftovers of our meals too).
