Have you heard of or tried flowering teas... What is your opinion of them?

Awhile back, my sister gave me a gift of a special glass tea cup and this expensive flowering white tea made apparently of leaves that have been sown together with thread to form a mini brown cigar shaped item that blooms into what looks like an odd flower right before your eyes after you put hot water on it and wait awhile... I found the taste to be very mild but was left wondering what all of the fuss was about... I am wondering if you have tried flowering teas and what was your opinion of them?
