Just doing a quick check-Here in the UK,car fuel is sold in Litres.
A litre here in Northern Ireland is £1.05-£1.10.
there's 3.78 litres in a US Gallon.
3.78 x 1.05 = £3.97 ~ $8 a US Gallon!
If Gas prices got to this stage, would you
a) Downsize your vehicle to something less thirsty
b) Look at new technology to save Gas (Hybrids, alternative fuels, electric)
c) Keep on truckin'!
what do you think?
Thanks for Answers!

Just an update....I have a favourite fuel stop near home that's the cheapest place I know..they just (since my last fill) upped their price by about 10p a Litre,so that it's now 99.9p a Litre...Call that £1,near enough..it's STILL the cheapest in my area-I was in town during the week, and my low fuel light came on..went into the closest place, and it was £1.11 a Litre! I only put in £5 to get me to my usual place! £1.11 x 3.78 =£4.19 a U$ Gall (rounded down!)
That's $8.37 a Gallon,Folks!

i would like to think that the US federal government would have done something before we even reach this stage....actually at today's rate- about $4/gallon, i am already feeling the dent on my budget for gas... if $8 a gallon becomes the norm here, i don't think i'll be driving that much at all!

The UK gov't never misses a budget opportunity to add another few pennies to the price of a Litre of fuel each year..I don't think prices are going to go down with or without help when the concern is that production may be reaching it's peak.
Thanks for the post!
