Do you wait till you are thirsty before you drink water

This morning I woke up feeling quite thirsty. I realised that I tend to drink water only if I get thirsty. Some people say this is not good - its better to drink water periodically and avoid getting thirsty. Is it true - is it safer that way?

I heard juices and tea especially if very sweet can actually dehydrate you as they have a high osmolarity! Is that true?

yeah i think so , and probaly is mostly true , in these days like everything man makes cause harm to something cause someone is always having a case study on this or that , ...at the end of the day drink water nothing else , i try to stay true to that but its hard , if only water had the taste of strawberry or mango punch more people would drink it

It seems I am not the only person who drinks water only when getting thirty. I just can't follow the advice that I should drink water regularly. The advice is all very nice. But the problem is I just can't remember to drink in times I am not needing. Maybe It is a bad habbit. But It seems I will continue this bad habit for as long as a time unless someone can prove to me that not drinking water regular has really series impact on my health. All I mean is we shouldn't worry too much about anything. Too many worries will kill us, more than not drinking periodically.

Its not worth worrying - just a little precaution as summer has approached. Being dehydrated (more than being thirsty) is definitely harmful!

They say so many things, and it seems to change from year to year. Yesterday I read that we really do not need to drink 2 litres of water a day anyways. Th liquid is good nomatter if it comes from tea, coffee or water, and we may get enough liquid through our food. I am sure there are advantages in drinking before you get thirsty - but I am also sure you'll soon hear someon say you should not do it. I think you should do what your body likes best. Listen and you'll know

Yes, being thirsty is the body's way of telling us that there is a serious lack of water in our system. We should drink water periodically, to avoid that lack. I am the very person to tell you this though. I can't stand water and only drink it when I have over-exerted myself. I know I'm a mess

Hi pitstop, What you are doing is wright. You have to take water whenever you are thirsty.Taking water periodically and wantedly will not supress your thirst.Even people who take water in large quantity periodically will also get thirst and they also have to take water at that time.It is natural.Drink water whenever you ae thirsty. Good Luck.
