No. My mom is 86 and she even says that she has seen enough in her life time. I don't think that I would want to see and be through half of what she has been through.
My grandmother, her mom, was burned over most of her body and my mom was in the room when this happened from an exposion caused by blasting powered that her dad stored in the closet of her mom's bedroom. My mom through herself on top of her brother so he wouldn't get hurt also.
From that moment on my mom had to take care of her mother and the rest of her family, 11 brothers and a sister, plus her dad and the care for her mother. My mom was only in the 6th grade and she had to quit school to do all of this.
Her father was abusive and a drunk.
My mom watched her brothers go off to WW2 and one was injured and lost his eyesight and my mom was going to donate one of her eyes to him, but too much damage was done.
She lived through no electricity, no running water and having to hall water uphill for her family to bath in, through outhouses and wash boards. She lived through no phones and the depression. Her father mining and then getting married and her husband working in the mines off and on. She learned to live off of a $1.50 worth of food for 2 weeks or more. She lived through not being able to afford clothes and making dresses out of flour sacks.
Her husbands first car was a Model T Ford that had to be cranked to start. She has lived though Kennedy getting shot, Martin Luther King getting shot, the start of the space program, the man landing on the moon and walking on the moon.
She outlived my father who was also an abusive alcholic. She has raised 4 kids and has grandchildren and great grandchildren that love her.
She can't understand why the world has gotten so mean and hateful. She can't understand why children are killed by thier parents or even anyone hurting a child.
So, if I would have to live through half of what she has, NO, I don't want to live forever.
