I have a hard time organizing my room but I seem to do quite well with everything else when it comes to my career, managing projects, volunteering. I have a lot of 'junk' like gifts people have given me, shoes, accessories, and especially clothes. Recently I just started trying to hang up all my clothes so that I can see it instantly, since I am such a busy person. I hate to store things away because I always think I am going to use it, so I end up leaving everything out. Whenever I go through my closet, I can't seem to get myself to throw things away. What are some of your advices in getting rid of junk and organizing?

Make separate piles when sorting through things. One for keeps, everything you will actually use or wear. One for donating to a thrift store or church, usually clothes or necessities you know you won't wear or use. And one for garage sale items, you got it but don't want to donate it so make some money off of it.
Getting organized and staying organized is hard to do for a lot of people. I too was like that at one time. Now I regularly go through the stuff we own and get rid of things every few months to cut down on the clutter and make room for anything new. I find it's easier to do this once in awhile because then I don't have to much to sort at that time.
