I'm curious, because I have five kids, and luckily, none of them (or us grown ups) have ever had lice. But a few weeks back, one of my daughter's friends was sent home with lice. Then entire class (my daughter's) was then searched for lice.
Seriously, if my daughter had it, I would not even know what to do. I mean I know there is a specific comb and lice shampoo. But that is about it.
So, have you ever had to treat someone for lice? If so, what did you do, and how long did it take?

I had lice as a child and still to this day I freak when someone scratches their head around me. My mother wasnt the best mother in the world she cared more about partin than taking care of us which thankful about 10 years ago she started settling down. She did a quick job and didnt get rid of it. Eventually I had to sit in the nurses office one day because I had missed so many days and it was affecting my grades and the nurse cut every egg attached to my hair out. It was a long process and I havent had it since.

Oh My Gosh growning up we had it lots it was awful. They actually like clean hair LOL. We had to use lice shampoo and then comb our hair with the live combs then a week later we would repeat the process just to be on the safe side. You also have to check the scalp after the hair is dry every day to make sure cause they are good at hiding.
A few years ago a friend of mine had it and never told me. meanwhile she was always comin over and visiting and guess what my son and I got it all over again I was so pissed with my son I shaved his head it was alot easier. You also have to wash everything in the house and freeze teddy bears for at least 48 hours and you can get a spray for your furniture so your not having to stem clean them. Getting lice is a real pain in the butt. Be thankful you have never had it.

i have three daughter who were very active, and they all get lice from playing too much under the sun.the only remedy i gave them is just a fine comb and shampoo...after they apply shampoo on their hair, they will comb their hairs with a fine comb before rinsing it and they do it twice every time they take a bath...i guess it is effective because now they dont have lice anymore...

I had it when I was a child. I have really long hair and it was a serious pain in the rear for my grandmother (who I grew up with). She did everyone in the houses hair with that shampoo stuff. Then had to go through it with that little bitty comb. After that she did all our bedding and furniture and even stuffed toys that were in my room and such. I remember it being an absolutely nightmare trying to get that little comb through all that long hair. It seemed like it took forever but if I had to guess it probably took a couple of hours to do everything.
