recently i was pondering the nature of lies.
Where do lies come from?
More specifically, where do children learn to lie?
is it innate? self learned? taught? observed?
in my own experience i cannot remember my first lie so i cannot conclude.
but i am however, inclined to believe that it is largely an observed or taught phenomenon.
parents peers and television are to blame if this is the case...
i think it is a combination of a defficient moral compass combined with a chance realisation of the logical tactic that is lying.
where do you think lying comes from?

have you ever heard of THE TERM CHILDREN HAVE ANTENNA'S FOR EARS? WELL I WAS ALWAYS TOLD NOT TO SPOKE CERTAIN THINGS IN FRONT OF MY CHILDREN BECUZ THEY PICK UP WHAT YOU SAY WETHER OF NOT THEY KNOW THE DIFFERENCE. SOMETIMES YOU DO IT WITH OUT REALIZING IT BUT BEWARE THAT WHAT THEY HEAR THEY WILL REPEAT AND LEARN.

My husband and I were talking about this recently. We don't go around lying, but I remember that I did as a kid. Now our kids will do it too. I can tell that my son will lie because he doesn't want to get into trouble or disappoint us. So, we have been telling him that it's better to tell the truth because we will be more dissapointed if he lies to us about it than we would if he just told us. So far it's just been about things like not brushing his teeth or not having homework. My daughter will lie by omission, so we always have to ask her probing questions to find out exactly what happened. I have also noticed that it started when the kids started going to school and increases as they get older.

It is taught they learn from siblings as mine have done or they learn from classmates at school, I used to be a compulsive liar, I was awful. I grew out of it and now I could not tell a lie to save my life. But now my children just automatically lie and it is so annoying, you know they are lying but you cannot prove it! I just they grow out of it like I did.

well,I think that lies main cause is man's seek of pleasure..........So,if he sees a chance to get more pleasure or reduce the punishment ,he tells lies.He is afraid of what truth may bring, because of his earlier mis doings. So,I think that lies are more innate and self learned than taught and observed.I too donot remember when I first told a lie.........but,I always try my level best to tell the truth, because, once a lie is discovered, other persons will lose the trust and confidence which they had. So,its always better to try to stick to the truth as much as possible.
Cheers ! Have a nice day
