At wht age did u learn to ride a bicycle??

Wow! Everyone here so far learned at such a young age. I learned to ride when I was 25! I had tried before but not learnt, and I think seeing my brother get a very nasty cut from riding kinda made me scared to try when I was younger. So I was probably never going to learn but you know what they say about "necessity"! I found myself living in FL at a campus where the bus service was frustrating my efforts to get to class on time, and someone kindly volunteered to take me to the bike store to select a bike, and she really did an awesome job, helping me pick out a bike I could feel comfortable in and even took me around the yard outside the store, holding it for me to get a feel for it. I didn't learn to ride at that moment, but when I took the bike home, I went out to the basketball court early one Sunday morning and was determined to stay there til I learned to ride, and that's what I did! I got on and tried to stay on as I went around and around. Most times I kept having to put my foot down to steady myself because I would feel like I was falling, but I stuck with it and eventually gained control and learned to stay on until I was ready to stop! It was the most exhiliarating moment when I finally realised I had basically taught myself to ride! I get a secret thrill every time I think about that. It was really a high moment for me!! I never thought for a minute that I could really teach myself to ride, but I went out there with such determination and of course praying all the way, "Please God, help me to do this!" and it worked! The very next day I was on the road, riding to class or the lab! I still own a bike, although I don't ride as much since the roads are quite dangerous and a strong deterrent, I always enjoy it when I do get a chance to ride. I still have a fear of riding bikes where I can't "touch" the ground with my feet at any given time though, but I suppose it's because I am so out of practise now and I so hate to fall! I should have mentioned, I hate to fall too so that probably had something to do with me not learning sooner. BTW, in my 4 years of riding on campus (and off), (and in the years after too) I fell only once, and that was because my lace got tied up in the pedals, and I only fell straight down on my side and on grass, so it was nothing damaged but my ego!! lol

I think I was around 7 - 9.
