Are you a daydreamer?

I am, I daydream about everything, I have my own little world that I escape to when I am fed up of the trials of day to day life, if I read a book that I find particularly good then I become that character after I have read it, changing the story to suit myself, if I see a good film, I daydream about the film but in my world it is real. I daydream about finding success in my life as the children get older and finding a job or career that I really enjoy, most of all I daydream about moving to a place where I feel happy and at ease, a place where I fit in and have friends and I even picture the friends too. I daydream about absolutely everything, in my head there is a whole different world that exists and I go and visit quite often!! Do you daydream? If you do, what about? Or do you not, and just think that I am totally mad!!!

I am since I was in high school and I love it! My daydream includes, visiting wonderful places, unlimited shopping, a very successful career. I will made up stories out of those especially when I am down or I have an idle time!

I definitely daydream and love doing so! Do you know that daydreaming is actually good for the brain as it is stimulating? I daydream about everything and anything and quite often I forget what it was I was daydreaming about as soon as I return to the 'real' world! Of course you are mad - don't you know you have to be mad to be friends with me? lol xxx

ROFL You sound as bad as me - the paper and pen thing! lol I think it is great to meet friends who are just as mad as I am and even better when we are friends! xxx

Is it, I did not know that, I often forget too what it was I was daydreaming about, someone told me to write it down, but I cannot always remember to carry pen and paper with me! So that is why we are friends then, because we are both as mad as each other.xxx

OMG that is so freaky because you've just described everything I've daydreamed about. Especially about the book and movie. I really like to daydream because I know some of those things may not happen but at least they do in my dreams and I could change them and have anything happen. Sometimes I think i'm crazy for daydreaming so much like that. It's kind of scary because sometimes I'll just get really lost in those daydreams and I don't feel like coming back out. I actually have used those daydreams to write some of my short stories. Hopefully I could gain enough interest in one of those dreams to actually write a whole book.

It's not as easy as it sounds because when I do start with one story I might get bored and just leave it alone. Then I may go on to a next story and then the same thing happens. So I haven't had a chance to actually finish a story or something. But maybe this will be the year where I'll actually write that one story that will keep me entertained.

That is interesting as I do create a lot of stories in my head that I live out, but I have never wrote any down, you probably could write a whole book if you tried you know, go for it and give it a go.

That is funny, lol, you daydream about becoming the character I wish I had such a good imagination. I do daydream alot but it is not as exciting as your daydreams. I mainly daydream alot when I am driving and wonder how I got to places as I was daydreaming the whole time. I think I daydream about the future for me and the kid. What place do you daydream about moving too, sounds like you are not happy where you are?

Sorry to hear that you are so unhappy where you live. Maybe it is time for a change, would your hubby consider moving? People are crazy for not taking you as a friend, you seem so bubby and easy going and a good listener. Pity you don't live in Australia, I would love to have you as a friend, good genuine friends are hard to find these days.

You should be careful daydreaming when you are driving!! Perhaps this is one of the reasons I do not drive ha ha. There is a place that we have been on holiday too a few times, in my country, but we fell in love with it on our first visit. It is by the sea and it is full of places to visit and things to do, I could take the kids out everyday and never see the same place twice, it is clean and what I have seen of the people they are so friendly. Maybe it is not really that good, maybe I just see it that way because I am unhappy where I live, I have lived where I am for 16 years but have never fitted in here. I do not know why but I have never been able to make friends, they just do not seem to accept me, but then I am not like them, do not fit in with their vicious gossip circles and do not backstab people I considered nice. Every friend I thought I had made here has turned on me quite hurtfully, the only true friend I had who also was not accepted by the people here has now moved and so the past year or so have been really lonely. There is nowhere to take the kids without needing a tank of petrol, which is so dear now so who can afford!! There are no good shops to browse in, but to get to the nearest town takes about 40 minutes on the bus and unfortunately my children and I suffer travel sickness, and buses are the worst for that, so it is hard to give them a nice quality of life. Sorry I have rambled on a bit!!

Yes, I believe I am! Well, I do this when I am really really angry or stressed out, this way, I would be entering my secret place on where I could think that I can do everything just to suit or please myself. It is a way of releasing my pressure or tension from somebody else or work as well. When I feel okay, I go back in the "my real world" so that I can deal with my problems. Hey, it doesn't hurt to dream that you are always fine hehehe.

Yes I am a day dreamer. Definitely so. When I get really stressed out at work sometimes I go home and I start dreaming about how I would like my life to be.A great paying job or even a business of my own. A big house to live in and call my own. How would I decorate that dream home etc.Day Dreaming is my Safe Haven and I hope those dreams will come true for me one day.

You never know, you may make these dreams come true yourself, your mind is a great one for giving you the ideas and you have to follow them sometimes.

I used to be a day-dreamer when I was a kid. Like you I used to wander in my thoughts and discover myself as the movie's protagonist. I also wandered if I could be one of the nephews of uncle scrooge and trek around the globe doing whatever I wanted. But now I am more in my own world than the fantasy. I have lost too much of my time wandering about trivial things. So got on the track back before its too late.

I am a dreamer, I am often found on my planet making my own rules up though I had the hard landing back to Earth!! I love reading books and becoming one of the characters, I some imagine myself chaanging the way my life has gone, imagining if I'd done this, that or the other. What if is a fanastic way to start a day dream, you start thinging about one thing and before you know you have had 10 dreams all in one!! lol You are not going mad, it the brains way of processing your thoughts and feelings! Its very much healthy to do so and if anyone says they done day dream has to be lying as they must wonder about things and they way stuff might be if it had been done differently!!!

Sometimes this is how I do actually come to decisions! I am always wondering about everything, pondering it and seeing if I can do it a different way in my head. I have always been a quiet thoughtful person though. I often have quiet days, which my hubby still does not understand after 8 years, he thinks I am moody or something is wrong but there is not, I am just constantly thinking and sorting things out in my head.

It is good to have daydreams, I know that some people would not see the point as they think that they could never happen, but it is not just all about dreaming about things we can never have, it is also daydreaming or dreaming about the attainable, if your mind is constantly picturing things sometimes they can give us clues on how to make real life better.

Yes I am a daydreamer. And you've described ME with what you've said. LOL. But yeah, if I watched a very good movie and read a good book or something, I wish I can do or have or feel, I daydream that I was the character and I was in the location with my friends. Haha! Sometimes, it's all too clear that it almost seemed real. I think I'm going insane. LOL. But it's fun to daydream. It sort of acts as my stress reliever. Cheers!

I do daydream alot but that's not a bad thing! It's a visualization of how you want your life to be and they say that's the first step to being successful with what you want out of life! If you can see it you can be it!

Oh heck I've been a daydreamer all my life! I suppose I always preferred fantasy life over reality. I don't daydream of different ways my real life could be. It's more surreal and fantastical stuff. You know magic and mystery For me it relaxes my mind and body.

I daydream a lot too. Interesting that you mentioned about becoming a character in a story you really liked as I thought I was all alone in doing this. I also daydream about a novel that Iwould like to write and hear the people in it talking and worrrying and going about their lives then of course I sort of wake up and know I have been daydreaming again. I should write it alldown and maybe I will. After writing so much and sending out so much and getting rejection slips I have kind of lost interest in trying to sell what I have written.
@gemini_rose (16264)
10 Apr 08
Oh my goodness I do this too, I have all these stories in my head and usually I put myself in them and make them up as I go along and the characters and everything and I live my story out in my head, and it is so real and seems to be a story that could work if I was to write it. But I never get round to writing it down and then after a while I forget it. You should definately write it all down, you must! Never give up on sending your writing out, I am sure if you keep going you will have success! Take care.

Definitely I am a daydreamer. I dream of achieving my goals. I dream of going to places. I dream of living my dreams. I dream of becoming someone that is famous. I dream of believing the unbelievable or happening the unbelievable. I dream of all the positive things that could happen to a person. I dream of being physically perfect. I dream almost everything that is not possible. But dreaming is free and it is good to dream. What is important is that - dream, do something, and achieve! Think big. Keep posting, Mickey
