in a folder in my email to answer but I don't know when I'll ever get to them. 48 of them to be exact! So if I answer one of yours that happens to be months old, this is why. I'm so far behind that I feel I'll never get caught up again but I've got them saved so when I do have time, I will answer them. I keep getting more in my inbox so I try to keep up with them first and do the older ones later and the old ones just keep getting older. lol A no win situation but just thought I'd let you know. I'm NOT ignoring you!
Have you ever gotten so far behind and thought you'd never get caught back up or did you just start over?

Hehe yes!! and i did the same thing you did! wrote a discussion about it. However.. I was MUCH MUCH farther behind then you! i had over 500 in my inbox at one point. I just deleted the oldest ones and started answering some of the newer ones after a while. There was no way i'd ever get caught up. Now today i started off with about 100, and i've been trying my best to get through all of them before the kids wake up from their naps. They have beens leeping VERY well today thank goodness. I'm down to 42, but some discussions i haven't responded to because i know nothing about them. i read them, skimmed them mostly and moved on tot he next ;)

The other thing you can do sissygrl is to rate them when you read them. I think it helps the poster. I rate 99% of what I read as + because it was at least interesting to read.

I got hundreds behind last summer when I was out of town.
I spent weeks getting caught up!
I went thru and answered the ones I could answer quickly or went on to the next because I couldn't or wasn't interested in answering them.
I saved many as new to answer when I had time or at least to think about answering when I had time, I still didn't answer about half of those.
I don't answer discussions about soap operas since I don't watch them. Or most TV shows, since I don't watch them either.
And some I thought I might answer when i had time, but then decided that I just wasn't that interested in the question.
I do what I can.
I got behind earlier last month too, but I'm caught up now.

I don't think I could ever do hundreds ElicBxn... Dang that's a lot!! Sheesh!! LOL I've gotten behind before and was able to get caught up but I didn't have as many friends as I do now so it's even harder and two because, I don't respond to but a few a day, nothing like a lot of people do here every day so it's going to take me a few weeks just for that little bit I have now. Like you I won't respond to soap operas - don't watch them and some I'll change my mind and just delete it. I'm hoping to do the news some and then the old ones some, going back and forth so they won't get too old.

I know what you mean, I've had to turn off some too because they were starting too many such petty discussions and I don't need that filling up my email box.

Mylot is not supposed to be work, so do not beat yourself up. I, for one, do not feel neglected. When I have to, I just delete a few. As for the older discussions new users dig up my old discussions all the time. If someone looks at or responds to a discussion it comes to the top of the pool and others see it and respond as well. If you are so kind to answer one of my older discussions it would give it new life. Relax, and have fun. In your shoes I would probably start all over.

You're right about that GardenGerty. It's not suppose to be work but fun. I just hate to leave anybody out. I'm a pleaser type and I need to work on that. Thanks for reminding me.

Hi cher! What I mean is, I have so many discussions from my friends on here because I have all of their notifications turned on. Maybe you don't have yours turned on and is why you don't get any discussions? I don't know but go to your friends tab at the top and see. Another thing, I'm going to put in a friend request for you and you'll see it at the top by friends with a 1 beside it. You can accept or deny me, hopefully you'll accept me and then turn my notification on so you'll get any discussions that I may start. By the way, welcome to mylot!

Oh sweets, take the pressure off yourself. No one is going to mind if you don't get to them all. It just means you have tons of friends, and they will understand. It happens to everyone here eventually. I've missed so many of my friends discussions I'm surprised any of them still talk to me! LOL I finally broke down and turned on my notifications today. That's how I got this one so quickly! LOL

Ahhhh, I wondered why one of my dearest friends wasn't answering too many of my discussions! lol Now I know, notifications weren't turned on!!! Hmmmmm, need I turn you over my knee? LMBO!! Like I'd do that to you anyways!! But you're right, having a lot of friends has it's advantages and it's disadvantages but I couldn't give up any of them for any reason because I love my friends!! I don't know how many love me but I love most of them!

Ah sweets, if half of your friends love you half as much as I do, then the rest don't matter! LOL

You mean, the idea of putting them in a folder to answer later? I thought it was a great idea and did it. Otherwise I believe I'd miss out on some really good discussions.

I have quite a few also. I have more than 48. I start with the ones that are just coming in first and work on them. When I start catching up, I find that some of them no longer need any response.

I like to respond anyways just because it may help but then again it may not but I like to respond to show that I wasn't ignoring anyone. Life has it's busy moments and we have to delay mylot for a time but gosh, when we do, we pay for it, don't we? lol

lol...I'm in the same situation....and I have much more than 48! 167 to be exact!
But I'm too busy with work and family now..and I'm thinking of giving mylot up....and maybe just check in once in a while...and right now I'm turning off notify...so my inbox doesn't have too many discussion notifications.

Dont worry about it. I have around 200 discussions to catch up with. I know I have no hope of doing it, ,so every now & then I delete some.
Some of my friends start up to 10 discussions each day, and I have 324 friends, although of course a lot are not active.
We can only do what we can do.....

I don't think many feel the same as you do but rather, "Why am I getting a response to that? It's old." However I may be wrong so for that my friend, I have to say you're one of a few!

Oh, you are such a nice person, CatsandDogs. But I give you permission, as your friend, to delete those 48 and give yourself a clean slate. It will be a relief for you. Once in a while you just have to allow yourself to start over.
