I am going on vacation to California on Saturday. My boyfriend and I are going to visit his sister who lives in Davis, which is really close to Sacramento. We are trying to make an itenerary of things to do while we are there. We definetely want to go to San Francisco. I was just wondering if anybody had any suggestions of things to do or specific sites to see in California? Thanks!

Well if you are planning to go to San Francisco, you could always go to Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 39, the Golden Gate Bridge, and the ocean. There is a place I used to visit in the Bay Area when I was little, though for the life of me I cannot remember the name. I'm pretty sure it housed the first great white shark ever put in captivity though.
If you like amusement parks but don't want to travel further than San Francisco to get to them you could always go to Six Flags Marine World or Great America. And if you are into zoo's you could go to the one in San Francisco. I wouldn't recommend the one in Sacramento as it is pretty small, though it has improved over the years. If you are willing to go further south you could always go to Disneyland, Knots Berry Farm, Universal Studios, and Sea World.
As for Sacramento, the only place I can think of is the state capitol. Okay, there is the State Fair, but it's only open during August and September. D@mn, you'd think I'd know of more places to visit as I've been living in the area over 20 years now.
