If you thought red fruit had little more than water to offer?
We may connet the green fruit with being healthy, but do you know the benefits of eating red ones?
The natural pigments contained in berries, watermelon and cherries are powerful anti-oxidants that keep healthy when we eat them.
It turns out cherries contain anthocyanins which ward off inflammation. For a person with inflammation from osteoarthritis, cherries would give them the pain relief if they eat cherries every day.And it also shows that watermelon and pink grapefruit are teemed with Lycopene, shown to reduce the risk of prostate concer.
Are you ready to try to get two servings of red fruit a day?And remember the deeper the color, the healthier it is,whether green, yellow, orange, red.

I do like fruit! Cherries are red and watermelon too! It is still expensive to buy but in a few weeks it will be cheaper! Strawberries are red! I hope all red fruit counts! I can buy some fruit frozen when it is too expensive to buy fresh. We can grow fruit here so I will keep this in mind when we plant this season! We used to look for food that had vitamins, but we did not know to look for these other healthy characteristics! "Eat a rainbow" of food is what I hear now!

no I am not about to get two servings a day, I don't have the money to go out and buy all these things, but when I buy fruit I always get grapefruit, or berries, watermelon is only sold here in the summer. Cherries are too expensive I never buy them.

That is very interesting information and certainly something that I will bear in mind the next time I buy fruit, I am not over keen on cherries but I love red apples.

research shows red fruit alone offers a number of healthy rewards.
Varieties of red fruit provide antioxidants, ward off inflammation, prevent urinary tract infections and reduce the risk of certain cancers.
Watermelon is high in fiber, vitamins A and C,and is a good source of potassium.

This is some information that i got today.no wonder i loved red fruits so much!!!i was aware of the various ways fruits can help you with if added to your diet but particularly red fruits are rich in antioxidants is something i didn't know. What i knew was that instead of being rich in vitamins and minerals they are also rich in fiber which plays an important role in digestion and have protective qualities against heart diseases,
