Everyone knows that an employee is a small fry and they cannot be bigger than the boss who pays the salary for your contributions. Therefore, I want to ask besides making contributions, what can an employee do to climb up the ladder?

hm, its little bit difficult to answer since employee paid for their contribution for the company. and normally employee can go to next step of position after show ther contribution and their achievement to company. so i think there is no other way for employee to climb up the ladder without doing such kind thing, dear. perhaps, you have another opinion? would you share with us in here then?

I agree it is a bit difficult to climb up the ladder by putting contributions to the company because it is the boss who make the call, whether you will be climbing up the ladder or being laid, it all lies in the hands of the boss. Therefore, even though, you have strive hard, made lots of contributions, the targeted position is still not available due to replacement by someone who is trusted or family member of the boss. Therefore, no matter what ways have been done, there are no other ways to climb up the ladder unless an employee quits his job and starts a company on his own . Then he is the big boss and nobody will compete with him only his business competitors.

I guess the employee can try to do their best on their job. They need to show up for work every day and be on time. they have to be willing to learn new jobs in the workplace also. That should help them to advance up the ladder if new positions, that pay higher, become available for you to apply for. You may make more money in a new position also.
