What exactly is your 'me time' like?
We all have our own ways to de-stress, to do things we love doing and be the happiest and the thing which makes us 'ourselves'. It's very important that we take out a little time for ourselves and live it.
So guys, what is your ideal way to spend your 'me time'?

Now I am into non-fiction more. Currently I am reading, Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, for the second time.

I read Mimpi. It relaxes me a lot.And as you know my next passion is quality Hollywood movies.I just like to get enthralled with a good one.Strangely I prefer to listen to music only in my car. I just put on my oldies when I am driving alone which I cannot do with my daughter in the car.And I converse a lot with my whenever I am free.Ouch! I think that won't count as a 'me time'.Isn't it?

Even I like listening to age old classics while driving long distance. I get very nostalgic. And talking is a great way to relax and let go and can be very well your 'me-time' if you love doing that.
Have a great time Mr. Manager.

Very good post!!!
I agree with you that sometimes it so happens that we are all alone and need to spend our time 'all alone'....and that can be termed as 'me time'. If I am alone and not doing mylot, I would love to listen to soft music of my choice. And if possible, I would sing the song along with the singer. Else, I would take my favourity book and start reading it, as much as I can.
Few months back I went to Gopalpur, it so happened that my friend (Rahul) was not there with me for 1-2 hours. I was all alone on a sea beach, which was not very crowded. I could manage to pull a chair, I switched on my 'mobile' put on my headphone and started listening to songs. That was really wonderful feeling for me, listening to my favourity songs in an isolated place and sound of waves was adding beauty to the whole scenario.

See it could be so rejuvenating! We all need this time for ourselves at some point or the other. Or else out life gets monotonous, dull and not worth living.

Life should be dull and boring, our re-charging and re-juvenation is must, whenever possible.

Hi mimpi1911! Gosh, after reading your post I did some real thinking. Do I have a real "me time"? And to my dismay, I realized that for the longest time, I never had a real "me time". I have always been busy caring for other people except for myself. It is sad to realize that now. Everything I have been doing and thinking are all for my family. I know I am happy when I see them happy but now I just thought of what will really make me happy on my own and for my own. So hard now to think about it because for the longest time, I have been living for others and not for me. Maybe, in time I will soon find out what to do in my own "me time". Just my thoughts dear! Take care and have a nice day! :)

Hi faith,
this happens to most of us in some point in life. A years back I was just like you. Never could thought of squeezing out my time. I thought my life is for family. Well it is, but I must love myself as well.A little pamperings, a little cuddle make us feel wonderful and most importantly rejuvenated. We all need it dear.
I just wish you try and find out your time. Even if its for a few minutes, it helps.
HAppy living dear.

Great discussion!
My 'me time' (which I hardly get nowadays) would include first and foremost reading....I love to read.
Sudoku is another passion. I love to clean and re-decorate.
Actually I have a long list of things....but basically I love to do anything where I can concentrate on what I am doing. Sometimes, I like to take a walk and look at nature.
Sometimes I just love to sit and think (don't ask me what...because all sorts of thoughts cross my mind then).
So, 'me time' for me varies with the moment and what 'I' want to do then.

Mimpi.. I think my 'me time' is the time I live.. In other words every time - whenever I am conscious or my time out of sleep (in some instances even when I sleep)- is my time.. I'm talking to myself or I am knowing myself as this is what I see, this is what I feel, touch, taste etc.. So the 'me' in me is alive all the time (sound sleep exempted for there is only nothingness)
I am becoming more active here in mylot because of you and thank you for that.

Dearest Sreevasu,
it's a pleasure to see you here again and I a glad that you are back. Pls do not discontinue.
Now coming to the discussion, I think you are the kind of person who sees roses in everything and this optimism keeps you going. I wish I could find me-time without time out like you!
Thanks for writing in.
Take care.

I love reading, and that is one way I can 'escape' from the real world for a little while. I try to get some reading done everyday. I guess one of the other things would be computer games, that also puts me in a different place for a while, though some games aren't great for lowering stress levels, LOL!

Me time! Yay! I love reading, writing, my computer or cross stitch on the couch in front of the tele!
I'm sure I could find many other ways to spend my time if I really got creative, but these are my faves!

I love to have a little alone time at home. I personally just love the quiet. I usually will just do some stuff online. Maybe paint my nails. Once I get tired of the quietness (ha, when you're so used to it being loud, all the quiet can get a little boring) I listen to some music. I really don't do anything real exciting. I am a bit of an introvert, so I just dig the alone time no matter what I'm doing.

Hello there my friend.
I have a me time during 4am in the morning daily. I live in a boarding house and most of the time there are lots and lots of people going to and fro and talking and laughing. So, I have decided to have a lifestyle that I could have time for myself, and Its just a feew minutes alone in a cozy cold 4am morning.
I thought I would not make it but to tell you I have been doing it for almost a month now.
Its just the corridor outside our room, with a chair. i sit there for a couple of minutes read my Bible and write my insights about what I read, and its just makes me excited everyday about whats the message of the Lord for me.
I can face the whole with a smile coz its opened with a great message from God a promise and soemtimes also given me a warning.

This is so good to hear. I am glad that you are being able to do it. It's such a refreshing start to have a 'me time' in the early morning itself. You can start your day much refreshed and rejuvenated.
Happy living dear.

Hello dear mimpi. Me time? Time that I can spend freely? Ok, please let me understand it this way as I could not find a better understanding. I always miss time that belongs to me without having to be worried about anything during this time belonging to me so that I could enjoy more of myself with a free mind without having anything bothering me. When I have a free mind enjoying my free time, I always stay online with mylot friends for discussions, which is the very thing that I want to do every single day. I miss my friends here. Therefore the ideal way to spend my 'me time' is to participate in friends' discussions as always. Thanks a lot, dear mimpi and I am very happy to read your new discussion after so many months of my not having seen you around. Take care and have a good day.

Hi William,
great to see you as well! Hope you are doing great!
Yes, you are right in your understanding, how cant you not! It's the time meant for our selves, the time which we spend for us only. Mylotting is a great way rejuvenate and even I find it very refreshing. Specially the friends here are awesome. I love to interact with them whenever possible. They have made my life different, better in the true sense.
You have a great life.
Love and hugs to your son and wife.

I have a lot more me time now that we are retired, and work hard to keep it balanced with a certain amount of exercise and getting out and about, some drawing and painting, some writing, a bit of socializing on and off the computer, quality time with my hubby, and reading and learning new things. It is so wonderful to have practically unlimited me time after having gone without any for so many years. In the past I have had to go for weeks on end with no more than 5 minutes of me time a day, sometimes a week. It was awful!

Hi drannhh,
I am glad that you two are enjoying a great life together. I remember you telling me about your life when your hubby was in army and then how now you two spend your quality time with the college students as your own. Obviously you two are the happiest and complement each other like never before.
Happy living and my wishes are always there for you.
Love and hugs.
