Time to pay bills again

Trinidad and Tobago Currency - Money, money, money...sigh!

So it's a week into the new month and my dad likes to pay all the bills in one group. This morning he told me to check up how much bills would come to all together and it was close to $700.00! That's just 4 bills. I sometimes wish I could help out but my pay is so small and I mean he doesn't ever ask me for help to pay anything. He takes care of all the expenses in the house. He lets me "save" my money cause he knows I'm a girl an I need stuff. Now I put "save" in commas because by the time I buy fast food, cosmetics and/or body lotions and of course I sometimes want a new top to wear with my jeans (I have enough jeans). He knows I'm saving to do my driving tests and I want to do some classes as well which will also require lots of money. So I have to be thankful that I don't have to put out the cash myself to help run a house but I mean I feel it for him cause he gets paid monthly so he has to make his pay last the month which sometimes can't happen, especially with everything going up up up except our pay as someone said to me yesterday!

Maybe you can surprise him once in a while and buy a ticket to his favorite sports game or buy him something he needs or give him $50 a month just for him to do whatever he wants with it. I know it's not much and it probably is more than you can afford, but at least you won't feel bad in not contributing. Sacrifice that one nice top to spend it on your Dad - not only will you feel good but I'm sure your dad will appreciate it. You don't have to do it all the time - it's just a suggestion though.

Well he has been needing a new phone and putting off buying one. I want to buy him one but can't afford to at the moment. Also on the topic of buying him stuff, if he asks me to get him anything just cause he knows I'll be going to the store or whatever he always pays me back. Once I told him, "I don;t expect you to pay me back" But he said, "I can't take your money, you need it to spend when you are going out plus you got to save for the driving tests." I guess he's just a humble sort of person. But I agree I can sacrifice, to be honest, I sacrifice on alot of stuff (not food wise though) just to save a little money for myself and I still see it disappear somehow :(. Thanks for the response.
