I am perfectly happy with food from the microwave.
The first microwave I bought was while I was living in a flat and did not have a cooker. As a result I used the microwave for a great variety of things such as making cakes, beef stew just about every conceivable thing that I could. Microwaves are actually better for some foods such a porridge or scrambled eggs because the food does not burn or stick to the pan from which it derives the heat.
Most people never attempt to utilise a microwave but simply consider it to be a quick reheat facility, which is a shame.

I don't really mind which way my food is heated up, just as long as it is heated properly. I guess that the microwave option is the quicker way to heat up food, and thet traditional way is the standard slow, but good way. In the end, I don't think it matters that much.

We hardly ever try and cook anything in our microwave. It's wonderful for warming things, but they just don't make foods taste the same as cooking them on the stove. I heard the other day that people who think they're doing "baked" potatoes in the microwave are actually making steamed potatoes. No wonder they don't taste like the real baked ones.
I had a friend who took a cooking class years ago when microwaves first started to hit the market. She was determined that she was going to learn how to cook entire meals in her microwave. It took awhile, but finally she gave up in defeat and went back to cooking the regular way.

My mom tried that as well when Microwaves first made it big like your friend. I stil remember the awful taste. Lucky for us she also gave up the idea.

Definitely cooked traditional. One year an aunt of mine cooked her Thanksgiving turkey in the microwave, it was funky looking and funky tasting.

I agree, traditional is better!! Food wasn't meant to be boiled inside out!
