Which is the best antivirus software........??

I am currently using Kaspersky anti-virus.......which is actually eating up a lot of memory...... I have used Nod-32 before but it did not detect some viruses.....so i switched to Kaspersky.... Since Kaspersky eats up my memory, my system slows down. I would like to know your experiences of using anti-virus software.( whichever you have used ). And, finally tell me according to you which is the best anti-virus that could be used.

Well I've tried some of the free ones out there like Avast and they weren't bad but I still prefer Norton. I've seldom had any trouble with it where as with others I have still gotten virus'. I know many like Macaffee but when my one email used it I would still get virus' that Norton would then catch.
