Did you know that eating oatmeal can lower down your cholesterol level thus making you cutting down your risks for heart disease, high blood pressure just to name a few. Oatmeal acts like a sponge during digestion by soaking up excess cholesterol for faster excretion. How many of you like to eat oatmeal? I love oatmeal but I seldom eat them.

I Love oatmeal Porridge and eat it every morning. I like it cooked with raisins. The oatmeal, raisins, and a pinch of salt, are measured in a saucepan with the water and allowed to soak overnight. This makes the raisins fat and the porridge cooks quickly in the morning. I'm 74 years old, still working every day, and haven't had a medical checkup in 30 years.

That oatmeal porridge you make looks very delicious. When I prepare my oatmeal, I only pour hot water and add some sugar in it. Is the oatmeal you eat processed or unprocessed? I want to try your recipe.

So, do I need to wash the oatmeal first then soak it overnight? Thanks for the tips.

When you are shopping for nutrition (rather than convenience) always read the label. If the label says, "quick cooking" the product has been precooked. Each time food gets heated it looses nutrients. I always buy uncooked natural food. The oatmeal I use for porridge is unprocessed but when its soaked over night it cooks in less than 5 minutes. The manufacturer doesn't tell you it will cook faster if its pre-soaked.

I like oatmeal but we usually have organic pancakes and eggs for BKF. Have you tried the instant organic oatmeal packs from Sturm's? We get this at Walmart. Comes with different flavors. If your PH is fairly alkaline then you can eat all these acid foods but we still need our fruits and vegs also even at BKF if we are very acid. I haven't seen the instant organic oatmeal packs here yet. Hope they will be available soon cause I like to try too. What do you mean by PH alkaline and very acid? Is this something to do with what we should eat if our PH is alkaline or very acid? I will visit your website later.

I have just visited your website and found it to be very interesting. I also suffer from health issues and I also have filling in some of my teeth. But I don't know whether it is mercury filling or not. I probably will check with my dentist soon.

Yes I eat oatmeal often. I eat a small bowl with heavy cream and peaches. I sometimes put apples and cinnamon in it or dried cranberries and nuts, or raisins. Almost any fruit is good in oatmeal. I don't use the instant kind. I have type 2 diabetes so I use the old-fashion rolled oats. They have more fiber than instant oatmeal and they are slower to digest which helps keep down the carbohydrates. I also use these oats in some of my recipes that call for bread, like meatloaf or stuffed peppers. There are a lot of ways to add oatmeal to your diet. Have a healthy day Kowgirl
