Ok, my daughter just turned 10 literally a week ago, and came to me last night saying she needed to show me something. She had gotten her first period!!How could this be?? She's only 10!! She wasn't afraid because I explained it to her 2 yrs ago so she knew what was happening but I almost lost my mind! I didn't get my first period until I was 12. I knew she was going to get it soon because she's grown literally everywhere!! Did anyone get their period this early??

This seems like such a young age! My daughter is only 7, but to think in 3 yrs she could get her period is very scary to me. I am not ready for pmsing from her!
I got my peroid when I was 13 and it was torture once a month until I was 37!

I know how you feel. Imagine my surprise!! I cried to my husband. He's in denial mode. I would suggest if you haven't explained it yet, you may want to start soon. I don't know about you, but the world seems to be changing fast nowadays for everything.

Yes I got mind when I was 10 years old. It's a good thing that you explained it to her because I had no idea what it was. When I got mine, I went into the bathroom and when I saw the blood it really freaked me out, I remember yelling for my mother. Then she explained it to me.

I got mine pretty early, I think at 11. My mom wasn't surprised at all because a few of the girls in my class had recently gotten their periods as well.

I can't remember how old I was when I first started my period, might of been about 12 or 13. Atleast your daughter knew what to expect when it happened. I can imagine you must of been shocked.
Has any of her friends started their periods yet?? Welcome to womanhood. lol

It's actually not uncommon for girls to start menestration before they are 11. Some girls may start as early as 9 years old. It's actually becoming more common for it to start younger and younger. I was 10 or 11 when my cycle began. It's perfectly normal.

I was actually 13 when I got mine and my daughter was 11, but I did have a friend that started at age 9. The drs told me to be ready anytime from age 9 to 16, in that time frame any time. I feel bad for her starting so early. Get ready for the hormones. My daughter had it rough her first couple periods, she knew what to expect, but if they get pms you can only prepare them so much. No matter what I had said she didn't realize what came with it, so she was excited because her friends had already started, but upset when the cramps, bloating and moods kicked in. Good luck with her.

I was a late bloomer in every way LOL. I didnt start until I 14 and a half. Good thing you spoke to your daughter about this. My mother didnt me. The only way I knew somewhat about it was at the schools. I told my mother something was wrong with my body and after she gave me the supplies to use you know she went in an told everybody about it and there was a bunch of people there. I was so embarrassed. On my side of the family Im the only late bloomers the rest of the family started between 9-11.
