How many of you occassionally feel trapped in the roles you play in life?

I am a mother, wife, childcare provider, housekeeper, cook, and handy woman. But I rarely get time to just be me, Rachel. Now I love my life and my family and wouldn't want to completely change it, but I would like just a few hours a month to be me. To see a concert(That isn't The Wiggles), have drinks with friends, or even just take a quiet walk alone. But the roles I play in life are so time consuming that I can't, that I sometimes feel suffocated. Well, maybe in a few years when my children are both in school I'll get a chance to be me again. Until then...Bring on The Wiggles!

I am a daughter, cousin, sister, provider, tech support and a friend. I love my life but sometimes when things get tough, I get tired and want to escape, but then, I always turn my head back to them because I don't know, I guess when you love them, you just love them and you really can't turn your back even though we are very tired of the roles we portray in our/their life.

You don't show commitment by doing something, You show commitment by doing it even after you've reached the point where you wanted to give up. That's what we do for our loved ones.

LOL il join in you all those roles! I dont mind I adore my family and everything I have to do for them but me time is really important because I am still me, im lucky though my partner takes them to his mums every sunday (or as often as he can) for a few hours so I can have some me time its very precious because I can just relax see a friend or if ive nothing else to do catch up on chores but without the need to stop every five minutes for a child.
And I must be super crazy because when mine will both be in school in a couple of years we are planning to have another baby! Mad I know but due to health I cant do it now so im willing to sacrafice a few more years!

I wish my in-laws would take the kids more. They live just down the street from us and don't work weekends but they only take the kids once a year, so that my husband and I can go out on our anniversery. My family doesn't live near me, but if they did they would definatly take the kids occassionally because they'd want me to do the same in return. I would gladly do it too.
My husband and I have also thought of adopting another child once the other two are alittle older. Both my pregnancies were high risk, so I made the decision to have my tubes tied, and keep the option of adoption open if we ever decided to have more children.
