I know what you mean... Try going somewhere twice or three times a week where you cannot get access to the internet and take you books with you... Somewhere where you have nothing to keep you entertained... Somewhere like your grandparents' house. I don't know be creative

The key there is balance. It's nice that you're spending time here in MyLot, but don't forget that you also have other roles in life that you need to play. You know that studying is very important, as it is a tool for you to grow as a person. Not only that, you also need to take into consideration the efforts that your parents put up just for you to study. Schedule your time, and try to keep up with it. Good luck!

Hmm. Well, I'm not sure if I'm addicted or not. But I fins myself on my computer at three o'clock in the morning on a pretty daily basis. I always get my work done, though. And my suggestion for you would be to do your work in the library or with a friend who actually does their work. Do it somewhere away from the Internet so you won't be tempted.

Well, I had the same problem when I was going to school. I was either on the internet, or on the phone with my boyfriend. I always found a reason not to study, and when I look back, I wish that I had, because I never graduated high school, and never went on to doing what I wanted to do. I'm still young, at 21, and plan to continue my education as soon as finances allow. You just have to keep remembering that by studying you are improving the chances of having a better future for yourself.

Well,my dear friend, this is the problem you have to face yourself!
I once spent quite a lot of time here, posing, adding comments... ...And one day,I found i fall behind the others in my work. Then,I realized that how to balance my work and mylot chating is of great significant. So, I made a plan according to my own schedule, and now,it works well, and I am so proud to say that I deal with the two quite nice!

i admitt, I am a little addicted, I notice the more active I am online, the less active I am in other areas(whether that's school or home or church).
It all boils down to your priorities. Sit down and prioritize all of your time commitments. Put them in order from most important to least important. The more important things generally require more time and focus, the least...well you get it.
Once you've done that, sit down and plan out where you will spend your time...AND THEN STICK TO IT. Only you can control your body. If you find yourself thinking about something online, go outside, hug your dog, get on your knees, whatever it takes to get your mind off of it.
Good luck!

Hello~
Well, my suggestion is that you plan your time management well. Set a time limit for your internet connection and follow strictly on how many hours you are on the internet.
Then, you also set a time for your studies and definitely studies should come to your 1st priority. Because it is important for your daily life. You need your certificate to survive in this world.
Internet is addictive and i agree with you
Still, is your self responsibility to self control the addiction you have. I know it will be a bit hard but you have to force yourself to get away from this addicts.
It will help. It train your self management, self control, self planning and all other things that will benefit in your life.
One way is that you can set a timer in your com and it will shut it off once the time is up.
Explore around and think of creative ways just to prevent yourself fall deeper into the addiction.
Good Luck and wish for the best in your studies

Yes i am totaly addicted to the internet as well, whenever i used to get assignments i would take days to finish them when they shouldve only taken me a few hours to do. All the time when i tried to resaerch something i just got mislead away and started looking at something else. I have no idea what you could do to stop your addiction except just dont use the internet.

Like you, I, too, am addicted to the Internet. Because of it, my grades went a little bit down, but I still managed to be on the top list. One reason in my addiction to the Internet was Blogging or Web Logging. I really wanted to keep and maintain my own Online Journal so I do so in the Internet. Another was the Online Community Friendster. It really sucked me to the Internet realm and made a deal with me of not staying Offline for like a day or so. Anyway, I'm going to have a laptop, which my dad bought for me, so it would be assuring everybody that I'll get more and more indulged in my Internet addiction. Happy MyLotting!

i am very addicted to it to the point that sometimes i lay in bed and want to honestly get back up at night to get back on it...but i mean there are times when i just can't get enough of the internet and then there are times when i just can't get into being on the internet and working and all of that...but like i said earlier sometimes i will lay in bed and think about things like that when i can't sleep or something

I wouldn't say that I'm addicted, but I definitely spend quite a bit of time online these days [what with homework that has to be e-mailed to teachers, and Mylot, and other networking sites]. I think if you're having a huge issue with the internet being a problem rather than an asset, maybe you just need to disconnect the internet from your computer/temporarily discontinue your internet service. Just until you can get back on your feet.

You need to control yourself. Understand that you have to study in order to prepare yourself for your exams. Why not staying away from your computer? Go study in the kitchen room maybe. The best way to not be attracted to the computer is going to your school or local library. Whenever I have alot o things to do, I stay at school library and do what i have to do until i finish and i go home. There are many computers as well for students but they are need it for studying like typing an assignment or check online homework on the teachers website. You can go there and play a bit on mylot but you will feel bad not studying while the others do. I feel embarassing checking doing unecessary stuff at school while there are students waitig on a line to access the computer. so goodluck
