Submitting To SE, Does It Worth ?

Well, I was always submitting my websites to search engines but I didn`t get the benefits needed to gain traffic and attract more visitors to my pages. !!
So, I finally noticed that submitting to every search engine is an incredibly time-consuming process. Search engine professionals know that vast majority of these search engines have a very low usage rates and will drive hardly any traffic your way. In fact, its only a handful for search engines that drive the majority of traffic from search engines to websites.
What do you think about that ?
Am I wrong ? Can anyone here make me change my mind ?

My experience agrees with you. I did try submitting to 110+ search engines and directories and it was a grueling, hard, time-consuming task.I have since found that getting a blogger blog and linking to your site from there works wonders from my experience last year. This year things seem to have changed somewhat.
